Name: Sandy <schcrochet@aol.com> Date: 2008-03-20 Comments:
Just was looking around. Tried several names in the search engine...none came back with anything on the site. All were for things on sale. It doesn't appear to be working? Searched for things I know are on the site, some of my previous contribution for example.
The obit page is very cumbersome to use
001
002 and so forth. One has to look through each and everypage. Wouldn't an alphatical list be far more worthwhile? I actually took time and looked through all 11 pages; but wonder how many don't find something that is infact there because they tired of trying to find it?
I asked the previous webmaster multiple times, and never even received the courtesy of a reply; so will ask again. Do you want gravestone photo's for this site?
Sandy

I'm looking at a death certificate where a person died in April of 1913 in Salt Creek Twp., Pickaway Co., Ohio at age 69. She was buried in "Salem Reform Cemetery". I don't see a listing for any such cemetery in Pickaway Co., Ohio. Does anyone know if this cemetery exists now, but under a different name? Or is it possibly the one in Bloom Twp., Fairfield Co., Ohio, called the Salem Church or Slough Cemetery? (Though that church was supposedly Presbyterian).

Name: Roy E. Thompson <junbug1928@yahoo.com> Date: 2008-03-05 Surnames Researching Thompson, Acker, Garner, Fullen, Pratt Comments:
My ggg grandfather Thomas Thompson came to Chillicothe around 1798. From the histories of Ross and Pickaway counties, it is written that he was in pursuit of an Indian who had killed and scalped his father. There is two versions Thomas did the Indian in. However the Indian died.
The incident created a bit of a problem. The Indians companions wanted Thoma handed over to them, so they could seek retribution or they would raise havoc. The townsmen said, no, they would arrest Thomas and charge him under what laws there were at the time and gave the Indians gifts to placate them, which was accepted and left it at that. In the mean time Thomas was jailed. Several days later he manage to escape and return to Pennsyivania, where he was originally from
There he married Martha Myers. They had one child there and in the early 1800's returned to Ohio and settled in what now is Scioto Township.
There is much more and many names and artcles to research.
Therefore any help, sugesstions or Queries will be most welcome
