Greetings from a person sharing your surname. I believe the surname Kramar is not Slovenian, but Croatian (or, accurately, Istrian; Istria is the peninsula on the Adriatic coast shared by Croatia and Slovenia). In tha Croatian part of Istria there is a village called Kramari (trans: Kramars).

I think we have some wonderful stuff to add to your research.
My grandfather "Edward" was sent by his parents from Yugoslovia to Duluth, MN when he was 18 years old. They saved all they could to send him because of the war. We know that his name was changed from Steblaj to Steblay.
I have been to Lubljana twice (a wonderful city!) and have met met a number of distant relatives there, including Martin, who was my grandfathers cousin. Martin passed away quite a few years ago, but two of his children, Toni (approx 45 yrs. old) and Sonia (about 35 yrs. old) still live there.
I will see if I can round up more info for you after the holidays, including the the e mail address' for Toni & Sonia. I'll also get you info. on all the other Steblays I know of (there are quite a few).
In the meanwhile, keep up the good work.

What a nice job you did on your webpage, Anna! Bill's maternal grandparents were Slovenian and lived in Tower. Bill spent the happiest years of his childhood living with his grandmother, Mary Katherine Jaksha, in Tower. Bill's grandfather owned a meat market in Tower but died young of tuberculosis. We intend to do more research on this part of our family. We were so happy to find your page!
