My brick wall is my 3rd great grandfather, George White b.1782 Ireland died before 1841, probably in or around Iredell County, North Carolina. I can't find a death date or burial place. I have a family paper that says George's father and grandfather were both named James White, but I have no dates for them.

From court records I know John Miller was appointed guardian of James P White. Robert R White was guardian of John G White and Sarah Caroline White. Rebecca White administrator of estate of George White. I have no idea who Robert R White was.

I am also looking for the parents of Richard McMillan Pressly of TN and York, SC who had a daughter married to Elihu Melanchon Henry born 1814 Kings Mountain North Carolina.

There seems to be a lot of connection between Tn, SC and NC with my White family because of their connection to the Presbyterian Church.

I am desperately seeking any information on my Grandmother Pearl Jenkins Moore Simmons. She was married to Walter Owen Simmons. Date of death is March 19, 1939. She was the daughter of John David Moore and Margaret E Moore. I cannot locate a grave site, picture or anything on her. Please help me to find a picture or any other information. She had 10 children, and my father was Joseph Thomas Simmons. They were from the Island Creek area, and my Grandfathers grave is not listed as well, but I know where it is.

My membership with the North Carolina Historical Society is my 'last ditch' effort to link my Tennessee ancestors with North Carolina. What I expected to uncover with research of my Silvester lineage took a surprising turn with the 1850 Federal census in Tennessee. My grandmother said that we had Indian blood (don't we all??!), but the census identified my 2nd great grandparents and their children as "M", and "free". What a wonderful revelation! However, after two trips to research in Tennessee, I've located no connection to another State. A researcher that I hired in Tennessee, suggested I look to North Carolina because she located two references to Thomas and Peninah Silvester in connection with the Symon's family. I feel there's an amazing, at least for me, story to be unraveled but I can't do it without assistance from those most familiar with the North Carolina records.
Please tell me you can help with this task.
Best Regards,
Mary Stokes
