My mother was born in Maysville, KY. Her Grandmother was Ida Mae Craycraft whose parents where Abraham Dawson Craycraft & Irene Arabella Craycraft(Irene's father was William Craycraft) and the line goes back all the way to Joseph from Lincolnshire. Thanks for all of your hard work and research! It's so amazing to learn so much about my ancestors!

My husband (and sons) descend from Mary Eleanor Craycroft b. ~ 1767 Md., a daughter of Thomas C. Craycroft and Charity Green. It is my understanding that Thomas was a son of Ignatius Craycroft Jr. and Elizabeth Spalding; Ignatius Jr. a son of Ignatius Sr. and Sophia Beedle; and Ignatius Sr. a son of the immigrant John Craycroft & his wife Ann. "My" Mary Eleanor Craycroft b. 1767 married and Walter Blandford in 1794 in Maryland before they moved to Kentucky. Our line is through their son John Randall Blandford b. 1796, his dau. Mary Eleanor Blandford b 1831 who married Sylvester Summers in Daviess Co KY in 1854, their daughter Emma Delia Summers who married Frank Kelly, their dau. Mary Edith Kelly who married John Leslie Harbourt in Daviess KY. Both Mary Edith and John Leslie Harbourt moved to Louisiana in the 1920's to become teachers. John Leslie Harbourt was the founder and principal of the St. Gabriel school in St. Gabriel, Iberville Parish, LA.

Dan,

Very interesting website. I was particularly interested to see a posting by Paul D. Cracroft Rice looking for relatives. I suspect we may be related and so I have sent him an email (which I copied to you).

Two Rice brothers (Charles and William) married two Cracroft sisters (Harriet and Sophia) in 1860 and 1854, which is when the Cracroft name was joined to the Rice name in our family tree.

When I was about 15, I copied out the Cracroft family tree combining a copy that my father had with a copy from the records from Sommerset House in England. It goes back to Walter Cracroft and includes Robert Cracroft of Whisby who was buried at Dunholme on Sep 14, 1667. He had nine children including sons Robert and John (aged 18 in 1634).

If you are interested, I can share the information I have.

Sincerely,
William Timothy Cracroft Rice

Hi Cousin Dan
Following in your footsteps (kinda) next month....from Australia to Hackthorn, Lincs, UK, with my el cheapo camera.
FYI I have something to add to our UK family tree. Eleanor, wife of Henry Cracroft (1813-1861) was Eleanor Fletcher Bullivant. Which explains why they gave my great grandfather (1853-1889) the terrible name Edmund Hynde Bullivant Cracroft.
Hope to able to contribute more after going through the Lincs county ecords. Though cleverer people than me -- eg YOU -- have no doubt already been there done that.
Regards
Cousin Pauline in Western Australia.

You've heard the expression, "Six degrees of separation..."? I and my maternal side thought the links got lost in the Craycraft family...boy, were we wrong!

Thank you for the extensive work you've done on the Craycraft family. I've just begun reviewing your material, but I had to stop because I was so excited--I emailed a cut and paste of our branch to my mother and my cousin, Cheryl Long (daughter of Mary Louise Craycraft)
My mother is Janet Craycraft Craig, her sister Mary Louise Craycraft Long, (plus two older brothers, Douglas and Ray Craycraft, were all from Middletown, Ohio. Their father was James Ora Craycraft, son of Eli Craycraft, successful farmers in Kendall Springs, Kentucky.
My mother would love any information about her maternal links, Iva Lewis Craycraft,ofJake Lewis& Mary Hayes Lewis, originally of Hazard, Ky. Her email address is bogietwo@aol.com.
Thanks again for the extraordinary work you've done--You deserve an award!
ps My father's family always said my mom and dad were distant cousins--now I'll be able to check: Bob and Janet Craig (Dayton, Oh), Francis Arnold Craig and Mona Mae Powers Craig (Frenchburg, Ky)
And to add to the line, Bob and Janet had me, and my brother, Steven Michael Craig (Atlanta)

Greetings from Canada,
Very useful and informative website! Congradulations on all your research efforts.
Do you have any information about Mrs. Beatrice E. Cracroft; wife of Robert Weston Cracroft of 17 Ladbrook Square, London,UK now deceased?
She was my grandfather's first cousin, and a Parker of Browsholme,Lancashire. I am the sole remaining member of the Parker Toulson family, formerly seated in Skipwith, Yorkshire and have recently discovered my connection to the Cracroft family. If you are aware of any surviving members of the above named family, I would be grateful if you could send this information to them ,or vice versa.
Thank-you for your time.

Hello. I'm Dana Lee Craycraft, also of the Portsmouth, OH Craycraft's. My father is James Patrick Craycraft, son of Harold G Craycraft and Dolores J Ferguson. Harold was the son of Garfield Craycraft and Maude Brown. Garfield was the son of Reuben Craycraft. I'm 31 years old and presently live in Waldorf, Maryland. I always thought that my Dad and I were two of only a few Craycraft's left....boy was I wrong!!! By the way, Dianne Craycraft Hume is a cousin of mine....her grandfather, Clinas, and my grandfather, Harold were brothers. If you know how to get a hold of Dianne I sure would appreciate your help....I've seen that she has posted things to the other Craycraft sites and that you have also had correspondence with her. Anyway, I'd sure like to find out all that I can about my branch of the Craycraft Family Tree, and my grandmother told me that Dianne has done some extensive research. Now my father and his two sisters are interested in what she has found. Thanks for your help!!!!
