I have been driving down CR 308 for the past couple of weeks and i keep seeing this old abandoned run down church building and i was just wondering what the history is on the church, so if someone could get back to me, I would appreciate it very much!

I have a copy of a picture which came out of a trunk from Anderson, Grimes Co. It is a posed picture of 27 men, dressed in suits, with an unfolded US flag held in the laps of 5 men. I would estimate that the picture was made sometime in the 1930's. These might be veterans of WWI. Please contact me at vbanes@cox-internet.com if you might have some information on the men in this very dignified picture.

My name is Kameron Searle and I am a desecendant of Martin Parmer. Louisa Liles, wife of William Physick Zuber, was a Palmer. She was Martin Parmer's granddaughter. All of William and Louisa's children would be descendants of Martin Parmer.
Â
The purpose of this e-mail is to invite you and all living descendants of William Physick Zuber and Louisa Liles to the Palmer/Parmer Family Reunion which will be held at Washington-on-theBrazos State Park, March 29, 2003. Please see our Web Page for more details about the reunion. This page is under construction at
http://martinparmer.tripod.com Â
Â
We are making an all out search for all of the descendants of Martin Parmer and his four wives. Please correct me if I am wrong. Martin Parmer and his first wife, Sarah Hardwick Parmer, had a daughter named Charlotte. Charlotte Parmer (sometimes spelled Palmer)married William Liles. William and Charlotte Liles daughter, Louisa Liles, married William Physick Zuber. Louisa and William Zuber had six children, I believe.
Â
We are trying to get good names and addresses of the descendants of Zuber's six children. Can you help? Do you have any names and addresses you can pass along? We are about to conduct our mail-out with reunion information.
Â
Martin Parmer was born Martin Palmer in Virginia. As a grown man he changed the spelling to Parmer. He lived in Kentucky, Tennessee and then on the frontier of Missouri for years before it was a State. When Missouri became a State, Martin Parmer was elected to the first General Assembly (Legislature) in 1821 and later to the Missouri State Senate in 1824. In 1825, he came to Texas. The next year he instigated the Fredonian Rebellion, an early attempt to declare Texas independent from Mexico. The Rebellion failed and Parmer managed to receive a Mexican Land Grant using the Palmer spelling of his name in 1835.
Â
In that same year Martin Parmer was a delegate to the Consultation at San Felipe where he was elected to the General Council of the Provisional Government of Texas. In 1836, Martin Parmer was elected as a delegate to the Convention at Washington on the Brazos where he signed the Texas Declaration of Independence from Mexico. Parmer was also Chairman of the Committee that drafted the Constitution of the Republic of Texas. In 1839, President Lamar appointed him Chief Justice of Jasper County, Texas. Parmer died in 1850. In 1936, his body was removed to the State Cemetery in Austin Texas. Parmer County in the Texas Panhandle is named for Martin Parmer.
Â
The reunion is open to all descendants of Martin Parmer. We hope to see you there.

Interesting page. Hopefully I will be able to find more about my family on this. I am the grandson of Harley Ignicious Callender who is listed in the deaths from 1998. I am proudly taking care of his house today and would like to see this site grow with information. If you would like to add more information about Bedias, let me know and I'll see what I can dig up. There is a ton of history in this house alone about Bedias and my family.

Name: Kameron Searle <ksearle1 @pdq.net> Date: 2000-09-24 My Grimes County surnames Zuber How I found this page Gen Web Project Comments:
My name is Kameron Searle and I am a desecendant of Martin Parmer. Louisa Liles, wife of William Physick Zuber, was a Palmer. She was Martin Parmer's granddaughter. All of William and Louisa's children would be descendants of Martin Parmer.
The purpose of this e-mail is to invite you and all living descendants of William Physick Zuber and Lousia Liles to the Palmer/Parmer Family Reunion which will be held in Huntsville, Texas, March 31, 2001. Please see our Web Page for more details about the reunion. This page is under construction at http://freeweb.pdq.net/ksearle1 .
We are trying to get good names and addresses of the descendants of Zuber's six children. Can you help? Do you have any names and addresses you can pass along? We are about to conduct our second mail-out with reunion information.
The reunion is open to all descendants of Martin Parmer. We hope to see you there.
