In an unnamed cemetery on Raymond Rd in Sec 17, Rollin Twp, these inscriptions were copied. This land was owned by L.Sherman in 1874. All the stones but two lie flat on the ground. Pub'd in Michigan Heritage Summer 1973 Vol XIV #4

I note that you are descended from Benoni Hammond,second son of Paul Hammond. Do you have a credible reference that lists Paul's children - like his will or a reference in a published book? I am descended from William Hammond who was Paul's third son and am doing a supplemental application (already a member) to the Society of Mayflower Descendants and have everything I need for my Francis Cooke descent but an authoritative link between Paul and William. SOMD does not accept ancestry.com or any other on-line family tree material. Also have you found Paul's grave in Penfield, NY. Great site. I stumbled on it while doing some research on the Hammonds and the link to the Mayflower and American Revolution. Oddly I came to your site when searching for "Lulhaven" and see your decendant Ethan Ceal LULHAM opened it. My grandmother worked there when my mom was a little girl(she is 64 now and my gramma is gone now) and always spoke fondly of the place. Last time I was in Glendive I went by and it still sits there like a time capsule. I guess I have always been drawn to it because of the fond stories gramma had there. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of her when she was at work. Also the last time we were there we were in an antique shop there and found a Lulhaven clipboard that the waitresses used to take orders. Of course I had to have it.

Their daughter Helen Amelia was my grandmother who died 29 July, 1994 in Campbell River B.C. at the age of 105. I noticed you don't have any children listed for Helen. I wonder if you know this part of our history....The Katzenback's were actually pirates from Germany who were kicked out of the country, came here on the Mayflower, then changed their names to Ketchabaw. I believe that they were known as the Soule's on the ship. I grew up on our family's farm in the tobacco belt of Ontario - just South-East of London. It is known as the Ketchabaw farm. The Ketchabaw's are my father's mother's family (Juanita Ketchabaw). My great grandparents are Hugh and Nellie Ketchabaw, born in 1903.

I see you are in Cheboygan. My family moved to Cheboygan in 1979 where my brother and I graduated from Cheboygan Area High School in 1981. My grandmother, Pauline(Riness)Halliday, knew of distant relatives who lived in the Cheboygan area. This must be the connection she spoke of. Small world.

Just digging for info on Solomon/Solomon/Caleb Johnson, and noted you have Hannah married to Caleb (b.1643).
That part of the record is more than a bit blurry, but I can tell you Hannah married Caleb (b.1658). Caleb 1643 was shot and killed in 1654. Solomon1601 had Caleb1643, and had Solomon1627, who had Caleb 1658.
Confused yet? I've been doing this for quite a while, and I still don't know who's who. If I'm right (!) I've got the Johnson line back to Ira (b.1455)

My great grandfather was Frank Miller, who was married to Mary Katherine Sturtzman Miller. He lived in Michigan at some point and owned a store of some kind. Edith Leitz, d/o John & Mary Leitz was my gmother. I'm sure we are related somehow on the Crawford side (my brick wall). Edith married Claude Crawford from Brant NY area in 1918, married at Immaculate Conception, Eden, NY. Apparently, Claude's sister, Florence, married Edith's brother, Frank. Here's the brick wall: Daniel Crawford, (died 1900, age 68, buried at Broadway Cemetary, Gowanda, NY), was Claude & Florwnce's father. We have no idea who their mother was. They were young (Claude b1894) when their father died, leaving them orphans. We don't know who raised them. Daniel had a brother, Harvey M. They both served in the Civil War, NY 116th Co K. Harvey's wife was Betsey Cody. Records show that Daniel & Harvey's parents were Almira (or Alimnar) & Rhoda Smith. Rhoda (d 1860) is buried in Evans Center Cemetary. No record of Almira's death. Any Leitz or Crawford's have any ideas? Daniel's wife? Anything on Almira/Alimnar? Who raised Claude & Florence? Any help would be appreciated!

I believe Debrix Miller's son John Hughes Miller (who appears to have been his grandson) is my great great great great grandfather. I have traced census records back to 1850. John married Ann/anna (mariah anna simons) and they had a son James (b 1851 in Delaware) he married Betsy Simons ( whose parents were Rachel Miller(John's sister) and Benjamin Grinnage. James and Betsy had a son named Orson (b-1876 in Mi d. 1909/1910 in New Jersey) He married a Lucille Surene and had an Orson Augustine Miller in December 1909 whom is my grandfather. I have just begun researching my family. When my mother passed away in 1991 she left her marriage certificate with some other papers. It wasn't until this Christmas that I learned my brother still had it. It gave my father's father (our grandfather's)name as Adelbert Moyer born in Mt. Morris, Livingston County, New York c1878 .
I believe Susannah Dalrymple, b. 1812, is a relative we have in common. She married Aaron Moyer, my great, great grandfather; their son Adelbert N Moyer married Julia Ewels. Adelbert and Julia's son Adelbert married Theresa Feiock. They had one son, my father William Francis Moyer.
Another relative of yours, Nellie Rosanna Peterman married Fred Ray Dalrymple - their son, Milton Claire Dalrymple, passed away right here in Grants Pass on 8 Sep 1982. What a small world!
Up until now, we only knew a handful of relatives, all on my mother's side. This is a whole new world opening up to me.

My Grandmother was a Miller. Nora Emma Miller (Lamb, King, Howe) Her family emigrated from Ireland. Somewhere in the corner of West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Ohio they discovered that they had too many girls and farmed her out - being of age to help the Lambs around the house. Then the Lambs farmed her out to the King Family - too many girls again. That's where my Grandfather Edward Howe courted her in Ohio and married her. I guess she lost track of the Millers and the Lambs - but kept up with the King family.

I was looking at the info on I J Bennett Sr. I think that he was my great-grandfater. If two of his and Marthas' daughters were Mary and Olive. Mary was born Nov 20, 1901 in Harbor Springs, Michigan. Olive was older than Mary. I had not ever been able to find anything on either I J or Martha, since my grandmother put her mothers name in the Corthell Family Geneology as "Martha Jane Mattison".
I did find a 1930 Census on them from Coos County Oregon. Listed I J's birth place as Michigan, his fathers birth place as Ohio and his mothers birth place as New York. Martha's place of birth as Wisconsin, her fathers birth place as Pennsylvania and her mothers birth place as England.

I have long heard stories about having ancestors who came over on the Mayflower. I have recently gotten clues that the connection might be through the Hammond family. Do you have a Hannah Hammond appearing on your names list, possibly as a sibling of one of your ancestors? All I have is that Hannah Hammond was born in New York state (1780s?) and married Harlow Burt. They started having kids in 1806, so one would assume their marriage was in 1805. The kids were born in Wayne County, NY. If any of this shows up in your records, I would love to hear from you.

Hi, I am a descendent of Carl Herman Kopke who immigrated to England some time after his birth in 1827 in Meissen, Germany. His wife was Mary Ann Susanna Jordan whom he married in 1860. He appears in the 1871 UK census along with his two sons. No mention is made of Mary Ann so I presume she was dead by then. I have just found my grandmother Lucy May Dalrymple. The information I have from my mother's papers is that she was born October 24, 1868 in Michigan. She married someone named Bennett and he died. She then married John William West in Rock Rapids, Michigan on March 22, 1888. They divorced when my mother was 14, so that would have been in 1916, then she married a man by the name of Scott. They lived in or around the Souix City, Iowa area. I remember seeing her once as a child back in the late 40's early 50's. That is the last I know of her.

Josiah Gilbert is my Great (x6) Grandfather. I found some great info at Ancestry.com from another posted Gibert Tree that lead my Back to Richard Gylbrete Gilbert. Once I got there and searched Gylbrete, your tree came up.
Wow, you have some great info and a more extensive tree. Both trees match up pretty well except at the end. For example:
Richard Gylbrete Gilbert's wife name was Kathrine Harrison on the first tree with 4 children whos names are the same.

Myrtle Ketchabaw was my Great Grandma. Before she died, my son was born. We had 5 generations living at that time. I found you also have a relationship with Paul Hammond. Paul had a brother Benjamin (who may possibly have married a Hannah Kirby Tallman, widow, according to a Hammond genealogy and other sources). Primary information I have from 19th century recollections of my ancestor, John Hammond, was that his grandfather, Benjamin Hammond of Alburg, had two brothers, William and Paul Hammond. I wonder if you know any more about the Benjamin, brother of William and Paul. Could he have married a second time? If so, he may be the Benjamin Hammond of Alburg whose wife at time of his death was named Zilpha______. I do not know whether she was his only wife, and mother of all of his children. Have you ever heard the story that when the "Wiltshires" originally arrived in the usa that their name was Oaglethorpe? They were from Wiltshire County, England, and took that as their last name so that they would always remember where they were from.
