These are the descendants of my mother. Dorsey is my mother's maiden name. Her father was Clarence Eutiss Dorsey and His mother was Nadine Ruth Dorsey. Enjoyed seeing the information. I am looking for confirmation of a connection of two lines of Dorsey's that married. Charles Dorsey ( Edward, John, Edward, Edward)and Lydia Dorsey (Edward, Edward, Nicholas, Nicholas) and had a son Beal Dorsey who moved to KY and married a Nancy Stigler. Their daughter Corrine was my great, great, grandmother.
She and Nathaniel Wycliff VanMeter had 4 sons (out of 11 children)in the Civil War; two on the northern side and two on the southern side. Two died in the war, one from each side and the family was never re-united and was said my grandmother never discussed it. They moved from Kentucky to Illinois where my mother was born. I love history and genealogy that makes it come alive.

I am looking for African-American Dorsey family members from Maryland, probably the Baltimore area but perhaps farther afield. This is on behalf of my 86-year-old mother-in-law, who remembers visiting as a youngster, but the details are unclear. The family was in the construction business.
