Dear Helen,I believe your ncesor Patrick Clinton is from Golway Ireland,and isoriginally from Kave. He is a younger half brother of my great grandfather Malackey Clinton son of Malackey Clinton and Mary Naughton. Malackey second wife was a Mary Mcknee. That would be Patrick's mother. Patrick was listed in Ireland as a Draper bhy trade and was also listed as literate. I will check the family history so you have the correct name for Patrick's mother as I am doing this from memory but I know I have this information in the family archives. There is still family in Ireland. A Michael in Golway and a Charles in Dublin whose I believe is an engineer.

hello I am searching for information about my 5th great grandfather Joseph Clinton i believe hes a Jr and his father is a Sr i believe i found him in your pages but am not possitive i would like to find out more if i can. My Joseph Clinton married an Emma Schlott im guessing about 1810 i believe in Lancaster Pa but im not possitive. This Joseph was born in Trenton NJ about 1780 - 1785 togeather they had several children, Rebecca 1813, Micheal Dewitt Clinton 1818 Robert b unknown, Joseph maybe a Charles Joseph b unknown, and a James Clinton b unknown. after Josephs death Emma married another man John Lichty and settled in wayne ohio until her death in 1873. My Grandfather was John Madison Clinton, son of James Elmer Clinton - whom i cannot find any information about. i think james is the son of Madison M. Clinton of Kentucky. i do research nearly everyday, and still no clues. This is one roller coaster ride for sure. John's mother, Mary m. Wonderfull job! Just thought a drop a word to know if you know of my Clintons.
Thomas M (o3/5/1873 in Sampson co, North Carolina) married to Mary G with at least 4 kids, Mary S, Catherine C. Adélaïde (born in Haiti) and Margaret (born in 1922 Quantica VA.) They lived in Haiti and 2016 Elm. Street Statford Conn.
Then I also have Lewis (Louis in french) who married Marie-Stella Anaida Sampeur in Haiti around 1905.
And last but not least I do have a Clinton haitian family for which I am looking for the story.
Could any of you be so kind as letting me know if you have any info.

Looking for the parents of Simeon Clinton born 1799 West Haven, CT died April 1863 in Grand Rapids MI. Married Nancy Smith in CT. Had 5 sons and 2 daughters. Came to Michigan around 1851. His son Frederick had some children return to CT, L.A. Clinton and A. L. Clinton, prior to 1910. Addie Clinton, Fredericks' daughter-in-law died in Cannondale in 1935. Her body was returned to Grand Rapids, MI for burial-(Addie's obit).

Love your web site- I got a lot of great information. One correction: you state that George and Margaret (Lewen) Lamberton had six daughters and no sons. They did have one son- Deliverance. I am looking for my grandfather Charles Montgomery Clinton.
His parents were Henry Clinton and Harriet Diggs. Charles lived in Pennsylvania and in Bradford County at the time of his death. He had also lived in the Williamsport, Pa., area which is in the county of Lycoming. He married my grandmother Alice C. Merrick. He died in March of 1935. I can find information concerning the Merrick's but nothing on the Clinton's other then Charles and Alice's marriage license which was in Corning, New York area. Thank you

Hi, I am a cousin descended from Lawrence Clinton's son Joseph. My branch lived in Peekskill, NY from about 1800, so I was surprised a couple years ago to learn that we are CT Clintons. I went to Yale, so I was sorry not to have learned this sooner. My mother is Carolyn Clinton Schmidt Chuatiuco (now living in Hawaii) and my grandfather was Charles Edwin Clinton.
Another web site, http://www.frontiernet.net/~rngwes/d0001/f0000068.html, shows Lawrence as having been born in Newport, RI in 1642. I'd be interested to know whether you think that could be so. I shall try to write to the webmaster, but the page's link to its homepage is broken, so I'm not sure it will make it.
By coincidence I was born in Newport. My father is an engineer and was working to build the bridge there. I now live in Seattle. I have a brother, Richard Charles Schmidt in Maryland. Three cousins live in Lincoln, NE; Washington, DC; and Bloomington, IN.
I am no longer with AOL, so I don't know how long they will keep up my website. There is no genealogical info there anyway.

I have tried to find out Peters father and mother name. Also when he came to America and how. I was told by an elderly aunt, that our forefathers came from Ireland. That has to be proven. Peter was born in 1806 in NC, county unknow. He later went to Madison Co Al., where he married Sarah Hill in 1829. Moving from there to Ms, tehn to Ar. and on to Texas.
