Hi Peter, I sent you an email but it may not have reached you. It was about the Chapman side of your research.
Your excellent website documents the line of Edward Chapman (1827-1909 )one of 9 children from the Chapman - Barton marriage. I have been working away on the descendants of Edward's brother, George Chapman (1835-1913), and now have a tree of over 700 -they have been prolific.
My research which I'm more than happy to share in either hard copy or electronic form, has benefitted from the work of others in the Chapman side, notably Les Chapman, whom I believe you have been in contact with. I have just returned from Castlemaine and updated the George Chapman tree as a result of talking to Les. Whilst there I showed him a large photo album that has come from my grandfather- also George Chapman (1899-1980) which contains a lot of old photographs, mainly portraits taken in both England and
Castlemaine. Unfortunately, 95% of them have no captions. I aim to scan all these photographs and make them available to any family researchers who may be able to shed some light on who all these people are.
Les also has information about other Chapmans - especially those that didnt leave England, which he has promised to forward on.It includes living descendants. Not sure whether you have this information, but am more than
happy to pass it on.
Regards,
Peter Matthews

My grandfather was Joseph James Francis O'Connor, his mother was Annie O'Brien. Not sure if there is a connection with this OConnor clan, but the names are awfully close. My grandfather Joe's father died when they (Siblings - Basil, Syl, Helen, Theresa, etc..) were very young and the kids were sent out to various family in the region. So I'm not sure the name of my gr-grandfather. The town that they are most associated with is Killaloe or Hagarty, also Sturgeon Falls and Barry's Bay. I'M new to genealogy and our family was so fractured, I owe it to myself and ancetors to do due diligence in finding my relatives, and where they went. If anybody recognizes these names please email me at erbisgod@hotmail.com. Thanks

Anthony Valentine aged 40, Farmer (b. KCD)

Mary Valentine aged 6 (b. KCD)
James Harper aged 35, Ag Lab (b. KCD)
Alexander Wishart aged 13, Ag Lab (b. KCD)
These were the only Valentines in the parish in 1841, and so could well be Ann's parents. The census was taken on 6th June 1841.
