The town of new paltz ny keeps coming up in family history. My question became where is "old" paltz. Googling "paltz" just brought to a thousand and one refences to "New" paltz. So went looking at paltzgraff figuring that it was based on the name of the original location. So here I am. Thanks!! Now I can pass this on to my keepers. They like to know that I am keeping busy. It makes tending me so much easier if they think that I'm staying out of bigger trouble. TA TA

It doesn't appear that anyone has posted any messages on here for a while...but i stumbled across this page...i am the great-grand daughter of Benjamin Polsgrove and his wife Nannie Polsgrove of Polsgrove Kentucky. I just recently traveled to Polsgrove with my mom and my sister to see the headstone we purchased for my great-grandmother. Her grave was only marked with a rock and upon the passing of my granny, she wanted us to buy a headstone for her mother (Nannie). Some of our relatives still live in the area. If anyone see's this message, I have some information regarding our family history.

I am a historian, now retired from KY State Government, with an interest in learning more about my Polsgrove ancestors. I have organized three family reunions of the Kentucky Polsgrove's and some of the family history summary prepared in 1976 is referenced in this site. My previous efforts have been limited to copying research files found at the Kentucky Historical Society. Now with more time and greater interest on my part, I hope to delve more into Polsgrove family history beginning with additional research on the descendents of George W. Polsgrove, son of Jacob and brother of Jacob and William H. Polsgrove.

Feel free to contact me if you can suggest materials for me to explore.

Hi! John:
So glad to see all the work you have done is available to everyone. Thanks so much! Ed and I "retired" and moved to San Diego. If I can help you in any way, I would be glad to.
We traveled to England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales this Spring. Found some Boyd info in Ireland and my mother's Kirby side but no Polsgroves! (did our ancestors speak French not German?)

My grandmother, Lucinda Jane POLSGROVE Fields was the daughter of George Washington POLSGROVE and Adeline CLARK. That is as much as I really know about the POLSGROVES. George was born 8 April 1843, Frankfort, Franklin CO., KY. d 8 April 1923 Orgeon, Holt CO., MO. md 15 March 1866 to Adeline Clark. Was told that his parents were Polsgrove (Pfalzgraf), Jacob and Harrod, Jane. This I am not sure of.

My Polsgrove ancestor was ask my brother
My family migrated to ditto
Comments:

Hi, Cuz;

My brother Tom Paulsgrove has done alot of hard work tracing our family tree/limb. He's got the goods for the questions above. All I know is that it was long ago & far away (I'm in New Mexico). I had no idea there were so many in the group. By the way, I was told somewhere that there was a family crest. I'd kind of like to incorporate some/all of it into a tiled entry. Anyone got any info?

Thanks to all,
Eddie Paulsgrove

PS: I have to say I prefer the "Paulsgrove" spelling; no hard feelings

John,
Thanks for this site. I recently became interested in the family geneology and have been ooking for information on the family. I have been skeptical of some of the most recent family information gathered by a cousin. I wrote several history papers in college and know the importance of documentation. I appreciate your documentation efforts.

My Polsgrove ancestor was don't know
My family migrated to Illinois from Maryland
Comments:
Just got interested in this due to Tom H. Paulsgrove of S.C. His greatgrandfather and mine were brothers, moving to Illinois from Maryland after the Cival War. They came from a sizeable family of which we only kept in touch with descendents of one other sibling back in Maryland.
I don't spend much time doing research, but appreciate the work of others.
Thank you.
