Our YDNA matches (2)Henry's, (6)Allen's and my earliest known ancestor (4)Harden Owens b.1797 Washington County VA died in Buchanan County VA 1887. I would like to know any Owens Allen Connection in North Hunting Creek Yadkin NC. I feel that our Owens were traveling the trails of Daniel Boone. One of the Allen's that I match has connections with the Boone family. My family settled in an area in VA/KY that was Boone's Hunting area.
I am thinking the Henry connection with our DNA may have came from William Henry and Bearsheba Owens presented to Jury in Botetourt County VA may 9 1797. I found where a Bathsheba Owens was found in Yadkins NC and wandering if this and the Bearsheba were the same. Looking forward to viewing your site.

Thank you for all your hard work! My family line is connected to yours through marriage of Mary Jane Carlisle and James Crayton.
James Crayton's mother name was Francis Blalock. She married George Crayton 10 Feb 1827 in Chatham County, North Carolina. They moved to Mooresville shortly after marriage.
I was wondering if Francis and Serena were sisters or cousins?
I live in Morgan County, IN and I have started on my geneolgy and discovering a whole family line (Crayton and others) here in the county where I live. If you need some assistance in Local records I could help.

I stumbled across it while doing research for my husband's grandmother about one of his ancestors named Peter Driese (name changed to Treece) who died in 1768 and had been married to Anna Catharina Volck (b. Nov 21, 1718 in Hochland as one elderly relative put it last summer). I believe this is the same Anna Catharina Fulk listed on your site. How exciting! I can't wait to share the news with my family!
Again, wonderful site!!

I'm adopted and I've gotten precious little information, but I did find my father's actual birth date and the date he passed away. It's amazing to me to think that he was real. It's true that knowing your history is SO important. It helps know where you come from. It may help you tell where you're going. Well, I'm off to search some more. Good Luck with your research.

I would like to know where the Allen-Johnson cememtary is in East Bend. My family is buried in the Douglas cemetary off Union Hill Church Rd in East Bend and would like to go to the Allen cemetary next time I go.

I am pursuing some ancestors named "Burke" and thought I would check your website to see if there were any common ancestors. Love the photo album story! That is what inspired my search as well. Unfortunately, my Grandmother spelled many names 'phonetically', so it's been a challenge!
Great site, so far!

Dear Omeda,
I found your site via the rootsweb-Lane pages. I am researching my Lane genealogy which supposedly has been traced to a Moses Lane and Cynthia Belle Lawrence. While I haven't found any obvious links here, I just had to tell you that your site is wonderful. The tribute poem to your daughter is by far, the most beautiful poem I have ever had the pleasure of reading!
peace,love and blessings...

This web site is a very good work. It shows a lot of effort and dedication.
Thank you for your effort.
My ancestry is believed to go back to Andreas Volck who came to America in 1708 as you have in your information. I have some information on my line as it is believed to be from the research of a relative, William C. Foulk, which was done around 1960.
My great grandfather was Andrew Fulk, who was born in North Carolina and moved to Sullivan County, Tennessee, where he married Mary Hicks and raised a large family. Apparently that branch of the family was very prolific as they are scattered all over the United States.
Again, I thank you for your work.

Your webpage is beautiful. I am descended from a John Blalock from North Carolina who has the same birthdate and location as your John Blalock, Sept. 4, 1762 in Brunswick, VA. Except my ancestor was married to Mary "Polly" E. Dorman. If you search her name on rootsweb, you should find 9 listings. Several trace John Blalock's ancestors back to the 1600's. My father and one of his cousins have a lot of information on the Blalocks. A lot of what I have seen on rootsweb is incorrect. I don't recognize the name Serena, but that could have been a middle name. John and Polly had a daughter borned in 1820 but the name we have for her is Adelaide or Adaleine.

Omeda,
I originally contacted you from the My Family website for the Carlisles. I have not been able to reply to your email. For whatever reason, it keeps bouncing back. Please email me at the address listed here. I came down the line through John & Nancy Sims Carlisle > Benjamin Sims & Rebecca Phelps Carlisle >. At that point things get real muddy because I came down through both daughters, Rebecca Ann and Missouri Carlise with yet another vague connection to son, Garney Sylvester Carlisle. Rebecca married William Mulberry "Barry" Smith and their son, Brady Lee Smith was my paternal grandfather; their son Lewellyn was my paternal great-grandfather (his daughter, Dora, married Brady). Missouri married William "Bill" Andrews; they are my maternal g.grandparents through their daugher Lanta Elizabeth "Lantie". Believe it or not, it gets even more confusing from that point but anyone who has an interest may email me. I'll attempt to reply in an understandable manner but my husband says I do not have a family tree, that I really have a stick...lol.

A beautiful tribute, I only wish more Grandchildren would be interested in thei ROOTS. I too received a trunk from my husband's mother. For years it traveled with us, till one day after I was 60 I opened it and the treasures were there!!Some family pictures had been removed earlier by another family member, but what was left was just what I need to trace back to the 1815 in Winchester Kentucky and the history of the Civil war. I am English and had no idea of the history to be found there, including the POW camp GGGGrandfather was in during the war, the battles he fought in were available to me on the internet. So much to do and so little time!!!May we never forget...and may we never be forgotten because.......

I am searching for my Grandmothers family. I was told that the family, Johnson, came from around Stockholm. Helen Marie gave bitrh to my father, Richard Earl Matthews, sometime around Nov.4 or 6, 1914. There was changes in the spelling of the Matthews. I understand that the original spelling is the same as Matthew, A book in the New Testament. I guess it was in Fidlay, Ohio. Does any body have any information to pass olong to me????
