Can you tell me anything about the "pond" area in strawberry? We were driving behind the old school house and drove past a big pond area that said "no swimming or fishing or boating". Is it private? Are people allowed to wade in the water?
Also - do you know any history about the dry creek bed? Is there a dam furthur up stream that prevents water from flowing?
Have you ever been to Fossill Creek? What is it like? How easy is it to get to?

Ive enjoyed your website and I am considering buying a puppy in the spring or early summer next year if I can find the right breeder and pup. I have some questions that Im hoping you would answer for me. I have a 4 1/2 year old son who Im am looking to buy the puppy for. I have spoken to a couple of people that rave about Boxers. Will you offer your opinion on kids and boxers and the dogs temperment. We are interested in breeding and showing Boxers.
Would you recommend what steps to take?
Currently we have a 4-year-old altered male. Very good dog trained and registered as a therapy dog.
Both my wife and I have had dogs all are lives but Joe Boxer is our first experience with the Boxer breed and we are interested in a female pup to continue with boxers and slowly take the steps to get more involved.

I live in Grand Terrace and was told you are closer to me than he is. Roxey looks like Jet Breaker (third generation back). I met Gary Steel back in December, and he connected me with Manny. Until two weeks ago I was the proud owner of two boxers myself but unfortunately I had to put my nine and half year old boxer, "Bailey" down. We have been doing some research as to who we want to breed our 2 year old Brindle Bitch to and your name came up. We hope to breed her next year when she comes into her 3rd heat cycle. She is working on earning her championship with her good friend Medley Small, who is doing an outstanding job. I am originally from Sierra Vista, AZ, but currently in the military (stationed at Nellis AFB, NV). I bought my 1st n boxer (a fawn male) while stationed in Illinios 7 years ago. I got him after a coworker was informed he could not keep a dog at his apartment. I curiously took the boxer off his hands and have never regretted the decision. "Luke" and traveled with our family for 3 different moves, including a 2 1/2 stay in Japan. He is AKC and probably the best looking fawn I have seen! We recently purchased a brindle boxer to keep him company. Liea is now 6 months old, she may not be show quality (AKC), but she sure has liven up the house!

Hi, I just wanted to do like several other people and comment you on your beautiful site. I love the article on boxers, and although i have been with boxers for over 8 yeras, i never knew that bitches were known to "hate" each other. But i totally agree with you about it... Since i have 3 bitchs ... I must be crazy. Our main problem is that our two older girls (5 and 8 1/2) have been getting jealous of each other because of my baby (19 months) the only problem is... my 5 year old girl is about... twice the size of my oldest girl :S. Storm (5yr old fawn) is 85 lbs. and Brittany (8 1/2yr old brindle) is only about 45 lbs now, and Abby.. my "puppy" is taller and stronger then them both together :S, she's a red brindle with lite markings. Dear Judy and Bruce,
I wonder if I could impose upon you to help us with some Boxer info. Last night we had to put to sleep our beloved Bruno, born Dec. 19th 1993. We went in for his regular check up and boosters and while we were there we told the vet that he had started to limp. We gave it a few more days and it persisted. We brought him back in and the Vet thought he had a ruptured tendon, which could be repaired with surgery. During pre-op examination it was discovered that Bruno had severe bone cancer in his right leg. Bruno was a loved member of our family that can never ever be replaced.
We know there can never be any guarantees but is there a way to get a boxer (through blood lines) with an enhanced like expectancy. 8 3/4 years is not enough time for such a wonderful breed.

I am excited about adding a boxer into our family sometime this year. Just this week have begun my "light" search and thought I should do my serious searching in AZ first. <g> Are you planning a breeding during this next year? I just sent an email to Lin Jensen inquiring the same.
We have 2 bh's and I am sure we will have one again, but our favorite breed is the boxer. (The bh comes in 2nd or 3rd with the OES somewhere in that equation.) It's been over 2 yrs. since we put down our guy. I think he was eleven and he had a wonderful life growing up with our two boys -- now in their mid-twenties.)
Enjoyed your site. I am printing off the info from the links. I know a great deal about judging bh's but not in the loop at all on boxers. I've just opened a new pack of paper . . . you're as prolific as I am when it comes to writing. :-)))

I read your article on Breeding/ Exhibiting/ Health Issues. I was very immpressed and hope you can help us. We are boxer lovers but, have had 2 that have had serious illnesses and recently lost our dear Dempsey at the young age of 5 with cancer. She also had what we believe was Boxer Cardiomyopathy but, the vets never could diagnose it. It was always assumed to be epilepsy. After researching lately, I believe that it was myopathy.
Anyway, we are interested in getting another boxer but, want to make sure we do all we can to assure it to be a healthy dog. Can you tell me what steps I should take and how I can find a breeder that may have puppies available around Christmas?
