We have an Elizabeth Demorest born 2/19/1809 in New York or New Jersey in our Family Bible. She married William Keepers on 7-9-1831 in Sussex County, New Jersey. They lived there until 1846, when they moved along with a bunch of other people to Kankakee County, Illinois, where she died in 1888. Many other Keepers have done searches to try to find if she connects to other Demorest (that is how it was spelled int he Bible) families in New Jersey, and so far, we have been unsuccessful. There are a few copies of the Bible in multiple branches of the family that derive from that original William and Elizabeth. In some it apparently says she was born in New Jersey, in others, New York. I did a search in the New York archives and found a household in Brooklyn in the 1810 census that links to your site. There is an Andrew Demerest as a head of household (page 80). It says that he is 26-45, has a wife who is between 16-26, and two daughters under 10. Your site shows him as born in a time frame that works, but has no info on a spouse or kids. He does not show up for Brooklyn in the 1800 or 1790 census. Do you by chance have anything else that may help me determine if this is a link? Thanks.

My grandmother was Matilda (Nellie) Ruble and was shown as the spouse of William Christy in the 1900 Kingfisher County census in Oklahoma. I have been trying to track William Christy, but there are so many. She came from Scott County Missouri and had two sons that were supposed to have been born in Cape Girardeau. There doesn't seem to be any record in the county records there. William was listed as an invalid in the census, and by 1902 Nellie went by the name of Nellie Miller and married Fredrick Copeland in Quannah Texas. We did not know that Fredrick Copeland was not our father's real dad until we started doing family research.I would love to find any connection to this William Christy--not sure how he spelled it.

I have come to same conclusion as you, that he was born in Rehoboth to Edward Hall. I would like to view some of the documents to support this view.

I was looking for the parents of Emeline McDonald. She is my great-great grandmother. My grandmother told me she thought she was from Kentucky and I had the names of some of her siblings. After looking through several sites, I ran across this one. Many of the sibling names were identical & unusual (i.e. Barnhill McDonald-I think you have it spelled Burnhill). Anyway, Emeline's birthdate appears correct and I'm like WOW!!! I have info that you don't, after they left Kentucky and moved to Texas. Ironically, my family stayed in Texas until my mother remarried and we moved to Kentucky, which is where I now live. P.S. My daughter's name is Emmeline (not on purpose either).

This is wonderful - it fills in many blanks for me!!! My grandfather, Azariah Martin Christy, was born 30May1888 in Winchester, KY to parents William C. Christy and Elizabeth Martin. William was born to Julius Christy and Margaret Franklin (identified in Chapter 11 of Ruth Turner Ziegel's book). Her book identifies him only as "born in 1843 and moved to Dayton, Ohio". He actually lived most of his life in Clark County, KY; he was in Ohio for only a short time, living in the National Military Home there. He returned, prior to his death, to his home in Ford, Kentucky. He is buried in the Log Lick Cemetery in Log Lick, KY. If you are interested in more information, I would be happy to share what I know.

My descendant is Lucy Adams who married Philo Pease (son of Merrrick Pease) in 1836 in Ohio. Lucy was born in Massachusetts and came with her family, Dr. Peletiah Adams, to Ohio as a small girl. I have the original newspaper clipping of their 50th wedding anniversary announcement. It is dated 1886. I also have copies of the History of Chardon and History of Geuaga that speaks of Philo and Lucy Pease. A special thanks was given to Philo Pease for assisting in the geneaology for the book at that time.

Hello there. You have a very nice site!
I notice you have some info on the surnames Sprinkle & Fry. The Sprinkle info I have and can connect. I am seeking information on a young man whose surname was Fry, who was born about 1830 and lived in Lee Co. in 1849. He was the illegitimate son of Cynthia, born before her marriage to Napoleon Sprinkle. Cynthia & Napoleon also lived in Lee Co. Cynthia & Napoleon's marriage record in Wythe Co. indicates her maiden name was Surat. Other sources suggest Fry. Do any of your Fry researchers include in their records a woman named Cynthia born about 1807 or a young man born about 1830, whose first name may have been Daniel.
Thanks in advance for any help. Happy to correspond with other Sprinkle or Fry researchers.

Trying to verify lineage to Captain's Jeremiah and Nathaniel Allen. Goes back to 1600's in England. They ran trading ships from England and her provinces to the carribean islands, of course that means they probably ran slave trading ships also. John Henry Allen married to Nancy before 1808 was born in 1780 in England and so was his wife. I found their christening records. I want ship names, etc. Also trying to verify if a William Allen that Jefferson Davis wrote a letter to on 7-24-1840 was also an ancestor. He was in the Senate at that time. My Allen ancestors first settled on the N.C. coast, Chowan county. Around the city of Edenton. I also think they were sent over before that to help in Pennsylvania and New England areas during George I, II, and III's reign. Any info would be appreciated. Also have some Bakers in my tree. Thomas William Johnson. son of Elizabeth Allen Johnson, married twice. 2nd time to Marguaret Louisa Baker on 3-27-1910 in Yadkin co. N.C., she was the daughter of John W. Baker and was born 2-05-1874 in Yadkin Co., and died 2-4-1968 in Yadkin Co.Someone in my family moved to Missouri, I can't locate that info at the moment. Thanks Sarah

I found Baker/Hevy Gedcom looking for Cyrus Proctor b. 10/13/1835 who is married to Eunice b. 10/28/1833 D 10/13/1898 with a brother Norris E. I didn't know when I started that it was Eunice Chapin. Cyrus is my husband's Great great grandfather. All the information you have for Eunice Chapin is prefect. Eunice Chapin is the Eunice that is married to my husband's Cyrus. Their daughter Lydia b. 10/2/1867 d. 5/30/1961. Born and died in Antioch, Illinois, is his great grandmother. Do you have Cyrus' parents data or his birth place? He died 1/11/1921. I have a lot of articles and data on the descendants. Thank you for your work it is a wonderful site and an unbelivably wonderful find for my husband and I.
Sincerely and forever grateful, Janet Keisler

Hi,
I am working on the BLISS/WHEATLEY lines of MA and England. I just wondered how you were able to verify that Dorothy Wheatley, dau. of Frank Wheatleigh and Mary Fiennes was the same person who married Thomas BLISS of Daventry, Northamptonshire, England. I have borrowed the Wheatley book from NEHGS and it does not give the name of her husband. Dorset is a long way from Northamptonshire and just wondering how Dorothy ended up there. Did Thomas move to Dorset for awhile and met Dorothy and brought her to Northamptonshire to get married in his church? There are so many questions. A friend of mine also has the BLISS book but that has many errors in there and we do not want to continue the errors in our pedigrees. If you can help, I would appreciate anything you can suggest or what films you used, etc. I do not have the will for Frank Wheatleigh so there is no help there. I only have the will for Frank's mother and father which was printed in the WHEATLEY book by Hannibal Wheatley, 1902.

We are searching for the father of Julius K.(Christie) Blackburn, whose mother was Maria/Mary Buys/Boice/Boyce. She was dau. of Jacob Jacobse Buys and Neeltje Volkerts Bries of near New Brunswick, NJ. His father must have died before his mother as she later married an Archibald Gordon. Before she was married to the father of Julius K. Blackburn, she had sons, Henry Fulkertson, by a marriage to Volkert/Fulkert Fulkertson and John Haas by a marriage to Johannes Haas.Mary seems to have had bad luck with keeping husbands alive.
John Haas settled in Hunterdon Co. NJ. Julius K. Blackburn, Henry Fulkertson and Mary Buys Gordon and Archibald Gordon went to Seneca Co. NY before 1800.
Does this fit in with your Blackburns and Christies in any way?

I just started genealogy about 7 or 8 months ago. I really think what you are doing is great. Ruth Turner Ziegel really left a great legacy to all her relatives, close and distant. I'm still sorting some of it. If you get back to me, I'll be glad to give you what I have.

I am a bit of a "newbie" as to the technology I have available, (like how to send files, download Ged-coms, etc.) but I have about 8800 names in my FTM 6.0 files in just abt a year and a half and have been researching my roots abt 2 1/2 yrs. I am quite willing to share in my elementary fashion and always excited by new discoveries; I look forward to exploring your site more and in hearing from you.
FYI - I am, also, descended of Isaac Cummings through both Naomi and Mary Cummings, dau.s of Stephen, Sr., s/o Abraham(s) Jr. and Sr., s/o John, s/o Isaac.
Some of my other major paternal lines are Hart, Jordan (brickwall), Galpin, Cook, Guiles, Greene, Kelsey, Gilbert, Baldwin, Stanley, etc.

Julius Gibbs - the Christy book person #21 - was my 3rdgrgrandfather. You are correct that he died in 1834. He died in his house on Ironworks Road in southern Scott County, Ky and is buried in the back yard there. The headstone, once there, is now gone. Though many researchers list him as having had only one wife, you (and I) are correct. He m1 Aggy Davis and 2 Caty Gale (though she possibly had been married to a Herndon first) His first two children were by Aggy avis and his last 7 to Caty Gale who was his widow and received his pension until her death in 1845 in Missouri where she lived with several of her sons and one of her daughters. I have reams of information on this family if you would like to use it.
This is the best site I've seen on this family.
Kindest Regards,
Ed Roberts

Yes, I am in direct descendency from Jonathan Stanford through son Jonathan Stanford through Erwin Samuel Stanford from where my father got his middle name. The Stanford line has a deadend in this country at Thomas Stanford, "Ye Blinde Man of Charlestown." I am working some other lines right now, especially the Boyden line which is my wife's mothers maiden name. I have a copy of Thomas Boyden and His descendants that is annotated by my wifes grandfather as it was published in 1900. Also, some letters are in it from other family members. I am still trying to get it completed. Then on to my other family lines: Diable (aka Dyball in England), Moore, and Dodge. My wifes cousin is doing a lot of work on Hauck from Germany. He and i exchange a lot of data. Much of my Hauck information is from him.
Thanks for the contact.

I can identify many of the Christy pictures. Your picture of Joseph K. Christy and Mary Shepperson has a picture of my father (Richard) when he was a baby.
I have more revolutionary war vets for you. The original Julius was in the war and at least one of his brothers. I have some wonderful letters from 1844 where a Christy had written to James and John Christy trying to find out something about his roots. Lucid explainations about the loss of the plantation. I have a possible link in London of Samuel Christy who was married in 1724 in St Martens in The Field Parish (central London). Also the marriage and birth of his parents. I can find no records of how he got here tho'.
I was a Lt Col in the usaf. A vet of both the Korean and Viet Nam Wars. 5000 flying hours and a 31 year retiree of IBM. My nephew, Stephen Christy, is the current Christy in the Military. He is a major. He was in Desert Storm.
