I'm looking for info on a Julia Varnia Keeney.....
She was married to a George Washington Short we believe around 1860 (any documentation you might have on this would be appreciated) and around 1862 George left Julia to join in the War .......he was presumed MIA and she got with a "Ladous Allen" ? and had a son by his names George Arthur Allen my G grandfather and we can't find any info on this Ladous Allen he would be my GG Grandfather.....We are unable to find any info on Julia Keeney and Ladous Allen but we do have a copy of George Allen's Death certificate that states the fathers name as Ladous Allen..

I know that this is the son (abt. 1854)of William B. Smith (1833) and Permelia Dials (abt. 1834). I think he was born in Washington County, Ohio, maybe Marietta, Ohio. This is all I seem to find on him. I am uncertain what happened to Permelia as W.B. enlisted in the Union Army in 1863 and remarried Malinda E. Brumfield Nov. 1865. Two of W.B.'s children lived and died in Ashland, Ky. which I have records of, even where W.B. is buried. But, W.H.H. Smith is my person I seem to miss info on.
After the war W.B. named his sons after Generals of the Union Army. If you can aid me with where to go for data on this person, I thank you,

My name is Johnny Click and I am researching my maternal great grandparents.
J. (Jacob?) T. Keeney married Mollie Tyree in Lamar County Texas on March 24, 1887.
They were the parents of my maternal grandmother, Birdia Mae Keeney. Both had been married previously and had children by their prior marriages.
Birdia Mae Keeney married John Howard Nettles, whom are the parents of my mother, Dorothy Jo Nettles, and they also had several other offspring.
Below is all that I have been able to find on my great grand parents:
Keeney, J. T. married Sarah Ann Cook Lamar TX on 12/31/1883
Keeney, J. T. married Mollie Tyree Lamar TX on 3/24/1887
According to my mom, Mollie Tyree was originally a Guthrie.

A couple of years ago I listed this search for J H Keeney but got no replies. Last December I changed my email address and forgot to list my new address in the search for J H.
He was in the manufacturing business (coin operated machines) in Chicago in the 1930's. His wife was Feern Sinclair Keeney who died in 1938. They had two children, Jack S. Hi again. It's been a while. I traced my lineage back to Sir Thomas. I used Ancestry.com and FamilySearch.com. That's not a problem. My quest is to find out about the marriage of Myrtle Rose Keeney to Harry Haynes. Now on the Keeney Update, December, 1986, of which I received a copy of the front page which had my Keeney family pictures on it, it listed all the children of Lorenzo and Leah Ann Keeney. The youngest was Myrtle Rose Keeney. Her husband, Harry Haynes was listed as Harry G. or Gardner Haynes. I also received a Keeney Message board reply stating the member of Leah Ann Keeney's family. Now where did this name (Gardner) come from. Harry's middle initial was J. for Jay. I have his SS application and his death certificate. There is no Gardner. The only Gardner I know of in his history is when his mother, Mary Gear DeWitte Haynes applied for a pension when her husband died in 1903. One of the person's who vouched for her on the application was surnamed Gardner. He had known Mary for 17 years. Does anyone know anything about this case? And why poor old Harry was driven away from Ohio before my mother was born in 1907. The main instigator was Annie Belle Keeney. By the way, Olive Keeney, daughter of John M. Keeney and Myrtle Ann McDaniel is 97, and in very poor health. She still lives in Chesapeake, Ohio. Her niece, Dorothy takes care of her. I also keep in contact with Phyllis Kriegel, who is the granddaughter of Mary Cornelia Keeney Baker. So, that is the scoop for now. Can anyone help me? Thanks and God bless.

I am still looking for the parents of my grandfather James Fate Keeney ) J.F. Keeney born about 1868 in Texas. He said he came from Ellis County. I found where he was in Erath County in about 1901 and he died in 1930. His sisters were married to Mary Catherine Keeney m. Thomas Jefferson Pierce, Rosie Keeney m. J.W. McDowell, Martha Keeney m. Harris, Henderson, Defoor. He may have had another sister. Roise died in 1904, Martha about 1910, Mary died 1939. He owend land in Ellis co. in 1896 but I can't find him on any 1880 or 1900 census or any of the sisters until after they marry. On his census he says he was born in Texas and his mother in Mississippi. When it come to his father he put USA or leaves it blank. Same way on this death cert. I have looked at the sister death cert. but they don't fill in the same for the father but do put Mississippi for the mother. Maybe someone can find them in 1880 or the 1910 census.
