I heard from my nephew today. He had to drive up to Meridian to get a cell phone signal, and he reported all the family is okay. They are hot, need supplies, and he's taking a rented trailer back from Atlanta with a generator, and other supplies. He said Bogalusa is in terrible shape and not expecting to have electricity for two months, due to all the grids being destroyed. They don't have the flood problem like New Orleans, but trees are down everywhere.
My prayers go to all! This hurricane surpasses what we went through in 1965 with Betsy.

Hello..1969 was my senior class but I got married in 1967 to Ted Price and went to Germany..We traveled till 1980 but I promised the Lord if he would just get me home where folks knew what "Grits" were I would never leave again..AND HERE I AM SINCE 1980....HA...
I would like to know how to put a memorial in class of 1985 for my son that passed away in 1990..His BHS class was class of 1985..His name was Trey Price..He was a "Lumberjack" and he LOVED his school,friends,teachers and coaches..He would of loved to have just been a "LIFER" at BHS..SMILE..He played "Lil Abner" in the Senior play in 1985.

We recently held a reunion of all Bogalusa High School Classes of 1939-1945.We called it the War Years Classes Reunion. The response was wonderful and the event was a resounding success. I jokingly tell people that when we graduated from BHS they gave us a diploma and a ticket out of town, because if you didn't work at the mill you had to go some place else to find a job. Some of us stayed around and worked at various jobs, then left when the time was right. I've been gone since 1975, but I still get excited when I drive into town and smell that paper mill odor...my kids think I'm nuts when I roll down the window just to get a better whiff. The class of 1961 remembers what it's like to miss that smell because the strike was going on at that time. I'm looking forward to #40 next year...hope everyone can take time to return home for the reunion.
