Comments:	During the first decade of the 1900's my grandfather used to buy his winter supply of groceries and other items from Pete Hendricks general store located near the mouth of the Big White Oak on Coal River. This store was located in the community of Orange, WV. Does the Society have a photo of this establuishment. I am finding more and more of my Boone County ancestors going back to Workman, Barker, Dolin, Gunnoe, Fillinger, Mc Kinney, Mc Neely, Clendenin, Snodgrass,Hager, Ballard, Flynn, Harless, Epling, Kessinger, Payne, Walker, Browning, Stuart/Stewart, Mournen/Moran, and it seems just the Boone County surnames will never end. I have criss-crossed some of the names several times, including Clendenin/Clendenen, Harless and Eplin(g), and I wouldn't doubt I will do it again! Thanks again for all that you do!

So many memories some hard times but also very happy times.I remember walking to Orgas when the train would bring the mail in and through it out. Someone would walk over to the railroad tracks and take it back to the post office. After that I would stop at Mr.Sneeds store and buy a gallon of kerosene because we had no electricity at that time. Comments:	I am a writer for the Boone Standard. I recently interviewed some people about a golf course that used to be in Uneeda, called Walhonda Golf Course. It was owned by Yawkey and Freeman and this was in the 1950s. A photograph of this course would really bring my story to life. I have located two, but could only take a picture of the pictures and they are very fuzzy, as a result. We lived in Vista Valley, in Racine and went to the grade school there also. we played on the banks of the Little Coal River and up the mountain across the highway. Ballard Preston Sutphin is another name I get as his Father and a story about a gunfight that ended the life of a Boone county man and Preston was on the run. Comments:	This is a great site! I have been using it for a long time now and have quite a few of the books. I was born in Hazy, Boone Co., in 1948. Moved to Edwight and lived there until August 1959 where my dad was a coal miner until the mines shut down. I have been searching for years to try to find my dad's father, Millard Fillmore Green, who was married to Lydia Workman Green. It was his second marriage. First wife's name was Lottie ?. He is in the 1900 census with Lottie and first child, Fannie. He married my Grandmother, Lydia in 1907 but in 1930 census, she is living without him, but it shows her as married and head of her household. She is remarried to someone else in 1933. What happened to Millard??? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

We lived in Uneeda for years, until all of us girls married and left home.Mom married Dewey Kuhn and had a wonderful life with him until he passed away at age 74. 3 years later she met and married Hanson Doss, another wonderful man. He passed away at age 79 he was a wonderful stepfather also. Now Mom is in Logan WV next door to my sister Minda. Mom is 90 now and in fair health. Comments:	I'm looking for any imformation on the Tawneys who were concentrated in Seth, W. Virginia. My fathers name was Roy Opie Tawney. His brother's names were Jack and Robert. He had a sister named Vivian, who married a Buford Jerrel. There might have been other siblings that I can't recall. Their Parents were Pearl May {Adams}, and William Opie Tawney. His father's name was William V. Tawney. William's father might have been a David Tawney/Toney. According to another lineage I came across, it was here that a spellig change in the name happened. I have no idea why. some of the children of this family spelled it one way, some the other. If anyone can give me any imformation about this family, I would appreciate it.
