My grandfather was William Walter White born 1889 Black Hawk Mississippi. He also went by Allman and other spellings. I've been told he is a Allen. His brother Benjamin M. Almon lived in Memphis Tenn. One address that I have is 3850 Faxan Memphis Tenn. I found some information which indicates John Allen,Allman, White, and Johnson was a relative. I do know that a Samuel Allman, father William Allman different than above was from Arkansas and moved to Pine Ridge South Dakota. Some of this was kept a secret as there was Indian blood. Some of them spoke Sioux very well. I'm at a loss at this time and I'm trying to verify some of the above.

My paternal grandfather was a William Jerome. My grandma married another man other than WJ. So my dad went by his stepdad's last name, but William Jerome is listed as father on my dad's birth certificate.
I think I have found out who this William Jerome is but I need some more info to confirm it.

Today, 5/17/04, I talked with Jean Stubblefield, who was trying to get some information on George Millard who passed away in about 1903, and may have been the brother of Martin Jerome.
In doing a google search for George Millard, I came across
a death notice for George Millard Lingua at:
http://www.princeton.edu/pr/news/00/c/0607.htm
I remember knowing George at CBC in Memphis during the forties. I last talked with him many years ago in New York.
George's Mother may have been named Mary and could have been widowed when I knew George. I do know that I was informed by my Mother, Martel Jerome Hall, that George and his Mother were my cousins.
I have been unable to locate the email address of Jean Stubblefield, now residing in FL. I would appreciate someone forwarding this message to her.
