I found your site after searching for William Christie. I wonder if this man is the one you list at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~christieconte/colonialchristies.html.
I was browsing through, "Old Burial Grounds of NJ" by Janice Sarapin. This William jumped out at me. I felt he may be missing for someones family so I searched for him on the web, thus finding your site. I am not related.
This book mentions a William Christie, a Scotland native and merchant of Philadelphia. He died young near Cranbury, NJ when he fell from a stagecoach on 14 Oct 1796. He was buried at First Presbyterian Burial Ground in Cranbury, Middlesex Co, NJ. There is also a picture of his granite stone.
Is this your William:

I would think it would be wonderful to connect him with his modern family.

I am searching for the Christie family that lived in and around Newton Massachusetts in the early 1800's. My ancestor, Alice Christie, married Richard Butler cir. 1838. Sometime in the 1840's they moved to Chicago and are listed on the 1850 census, which indicates that Richard had died, but that 4 of their 8 children were born in MA as well as Alice. Richard had immigrated to US from Ireland. In a 1846 Chicago City Directory, it lists a James Christie as a household member of Richard Butler. Perhaps Alice's brother. I am searching for more information on this family. Thank you!

I am helping with family resaech. My husband is direct descendant of Josiah Allen Christie. We have been successful thus far but we have a Robert Christie. His second wife was Susannah Gorman. Robert and his first wife had 3 children.

You have done a WONDERFUL JOB with your site !!! I was in tears when I read aunt lilly's stories about Abuela Sarah!!! I miss her soooo much!!! I have so many warm and fond memories of her as a child...I can still smell her Garbonzo Bean Soup!!!!! She always smelled so good. I remember she used to rock me in her green recliner! This is a lovely website! I'm looking for Thomas Henry Allen, who was born in New Bern NC to Walter and Susan Allen abt 1840. He fought in the Civil War for the Union and was a Civil Engineer in Charlotte NC after the war. His second marriage was to Laura Porcher and he died in Florence NC in 1881.
