Perhaps our paths will cross somewhere down the line!!! Good hunting and thank you for your website.

People in Trenton know me as Elnor Jane Morris. My father was James Clayton Morris and my mother was Blanch Maxey. She was decended from the Maxey and Mason (sometimes spelled Maxon) families who came to Grundy County from Lancastr, Ky (Garrard County) in 1835. There were about a half dozen families including the Arbuckle, Dockery & Harris families. Those who died in the 1800s and most of the 1900s are buried in the Trenton area. The Morris family was researched by Morris Bulyard throughly via the internet and census records. The person who did my mother's family used courthouse records and tombstones. I am still looking for info on her family. - Jane

I've checked your page many times but have never taken time to tell you how much I appreciate your work. You are doing an outstanding job. Congratulations.
Laredo was my home for many years and Gale and Emmagene were good friends. I watched Gary and Terry grow into fine men I'm proud to know, though I haven't seen them for quite some time. Because Gary was older, I knew him better and was always impressed by his being such a gentleman.
Thanks again for the site, I can sit here in Montana and be drawn back into my Missouri memories.

Hi Alicia,
I am the granddaughter of Roy and Pauline Ferguson of Trenton. My father is their youngest son, Roy E Ferguson, JR. My mother is Donna Ferguson and she was the daughter of Trevlin McNabb and Freida (Berry-from galt)McNabb. I live in my grandparent's home, the big farm house with the wrap around porch, just north of Grundy Electric on old highway 65. I was trying to figure out where exactly I lived in Grundy County so that I could watch the radar when storm's pass thru. I was wondering if you had any information before William and Phoebe. I can remember my Grandpa Roy telling me that his grandma (or great, great-great grandmother) was a full blooded Indian. I was young when he told me this so it could have even been my Grandma Polly's side of the family he was talking about, because I thought he said she married a Frenchman and from what I read on your web site my grandpa's family come's from Ireland and Scottland. I was wondering if you ever find information on cause of death or any medical histories. The reason I'm asking is because on my father's side of the family we have a history of diabetis and cancer. I lost my son, Rayvin, in 1994, a month before his 3rd birthday following a bone marrow transplant for leukemia. I'm really interested in finding information on medical histories and if their are any other children who have had cancer. Another interest I have is for family recipe's that have been passed down preferably in the person's own hand writing. Do you ever run across any from family member's? My Grandma McNabb set down one time and recorded her memorie's that she could remember from a child to the present. She then sent them to my cousin who typed them up and my mother and her sister's and brother went together and made copies for everyone for a Christmas present from Grandma before she passed away. This is a great idea to preserve history. How are you related to William and Phoebe Ferguson? I was so surprised to find so much interesting history on Grundy County and your web site. Thanks, Sondra Meighen

Hi! My Paternal grandmother was a Kelley, first name Kathleen. This is her parents and siblings. If this line interests you I have a registry report for James Kelley and his descendants ( my line anyway) at this site. http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/g/r/e/Marlene_Gregg/index.html
If I can help further please email me.
I have James Kelley who married Eliza Longfellow in the 1850s. They had 8 children: Joshua, Harry, Joe, Jim, Anna, Rose, Polly, and Ruth. The son Joshua 1860-1920 married Alice Elizabeth Devoille about 1886. They had 10 children: Alice, Elizabeth, James, Jack, Harry, Joseph, Rose, Kathleen, John, and Lawrence. The daughter Alice 1887-? was abducted off the docks in London on 21 June 1901 by white slave traffickers. She was never found. The daughter Rose 1897-1961 married Albert Bradford in Barking during 1920(at the time Barking was in Essex). Several family members moved to America reportedly to Pennsylvania and/or Ohio so they may have family ties to the Kelley families already there.

Hoping to find a connection between my Barr family and yours. According to old county histories, our family in America started with David Barr who came to Pennsylvania from Northern Ireland in the 1700's. David's son, Samuel Barr, moved to Ohio. Samuel's son, George Barr (my gg-grandfather), was born in PA, raised in OH, and moved to Kosciusko County, Indiana in the late 1850's.

Thanks for developing your website. I find these websites so fascinating.

I know I had some relatives, probably still do but completely unaware, from Missouri, but I am unable to find out the exact surname spelling that was used by my gg grandfather Tait/Tate. My father whom is still living has always went by the surname Tait that his father used. My father doesn't know what his grandfather's full name was at all. I am in search of that if at all possible. We know he married a lady by the name of Mary Etta "Ettie" Reilly/Riley from Deepwater, Missouri, but left her and their 3 sons after a period of time. Supposedly my gg grandfather went to Texas and wasn't ever heard from again. I found a document, where my grandfather's surname was spelled out on an affidaivit, as well as, my grandfather signing it as his surname spelling of Tate. We believe the Tate's/Tait's came from around Missouri, but since I am a beginner to genealogy research I have yet to contact the Jefferso County Missouri or the Deepwater, MO areas city clerks for any information. Hoping you might some information you might like to share that would connect us together.

The following are some surnames you've listed requesting any information on.,
I know they won't be people of at least the 1800's, but they might have some information that could prove to be helpful.

- My folks live in Chanute, KS and they had a neighbor by the name of GLADYS PAGE. At her untimely death Mrs. Page, as I knew her and referred to her, was on her way down to Albuquerque, New Mexico for a big family reunion. She was telling I and my mom about her journey she was about to go on. Mrs. Page was extremely excited about going to this reunion since she there would be relatives that she had never seen or knew of. She knew she wouldn't be travelling much probably after this reunion since she was around 70 years old. You see, Mrs. Page never drove a car, let alone learned to drive. She walked everywhere she needed to go including church. I guess, from visiting with her she knew she had relatives in the state of Pennslyvania, but I do not remember at this time whom she said lived there. I could check with my mother and see if she might recall. Mrs. Page had a daughter that lived in Wichita, KS. I will have to obtain her married name from my folks , for I do not know it off the top of my head, but will remember once I hear it. Mrs. Page was very fond of the piano for she taught my younger sister and I beginning lessons. Just a tidbit.

- I also worked for a JOHN BARR in my hometown of Chanute, KS. John and wife Mary owned two clothing stores for many years in Chanute until about 10 years ago and they consolidated down to one store only. John just passed away early in August, I believe. Mary and had two children; a son Scott and a daughter Kathy.

I know this isn't much, but I thought I would pass along what I know.

Keep up the good work.

My great-grandmother on my father's side is a Barr.
Her name was Ruth Barr. She was married to William Taylor. They were both born in 1827. She was Scotch-Irish. I'm not sure if she was born in Scotland or Ireland. She and her husband had a farm and raised 9 children. They lived in Rockport, PA. She died in 1875 and is buried in Laurytown,PA. Have you ever heard of this particular Barr. I don't even know her parents names or any siblings. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
