My husband (Glen) and I live in Crete, NE. When I saw Dick was born in NE, I about fell over. I also worked with a Dick Bauer here in Lincoln. I had a girlfriend in Blair, NE, and we were in each others wedding. Glen and I are planning to retire in AZ, but not until 2006. My husband wants to start looking now, but I think it's too soon. I was curious as to where You found the information on Altis E Smith. And if you could send me a link or point me in the right direction? I have a Great Grandfather named Altis E. Smith. I'm so impressed with your research and thrilled to find so many of my ancestors listed in one place. I knew nothing of my forebearers beyond Benjamin Franklin Scruggs (Bascom Robert's brother.) If I've read your listings correctly, they were half-brothers. Your great-great grandmother was Saphronia Noel and mine was Agnes Sutton, Benjamin Franklin, Jr. being the last offspring of the union of BF Scruggs Sr and Agnes Sutton.
