Comments:	Hello Glynns! I just found this list while searching my name on the net. I am the 5th James Glynn in my family. My father is from Cedar Rapids, Iowa where his parents still live along with most of his 8 siblings. I don't have much info on when our part of the family came to the USA, I think it was my Great Grandfather, but I'd like to find out more. Comments:	Sorry I made a mistake earlier when I said my grandmother Margaret Glynn was born in Athlone. She was born in Ballinasloe, Co Galway in 1893 to Patrick Glynn (b abt 1851) and Ann Greany. In 1901 she was living in Athlone. She had three siblings Bridget (b 1882), Kathleen (b 1885) and Patrick (b 1888), all born in Ballinasloe. She married my grandfather Alec Fletcher in 1914 in Athlone. Diane V Owens may be related as her grandfather Michael F Glynn was also born in Ballinasloe. The town of Ballinasloe is made up of two parishes Kilcloony in Co Galway and Creagh in Co Roscommon. My great-grandfather Patrick's father was Malachy Glynn.

Comments:	My mother was Anna Glynn, daughter of Michael F Glynn and Mary E Moloney of Dorchester, MA. I am the first grandchild of Michael and Mary. Michael Glynn was born in Ballinasloe, Roscommon in 1890. Mary was born in Moycullen, Galway. To Tony Glynn of England I pose a question. Do you have a brother Oliver? Did you at any time spend vacation time with Margaret Glynn Rock and Anne Glynn Geary of Forest Hills,MA.? Their father was Denis and both were sisters of my grandfather. We may be related. Are you sure that your Ballinasloe is in Galway. There are two Ballinasloes: one in Galway and one in Roscommon. They are separated by the River Suck and are very close to each other. Comments:	My grandfather is Leo John Glynn form Drumcondra, Co. Dublin, Ireland. He had 3 older brothers, Gerard, Joseph, Harry (Christened Henry). Their father was Michael Joseph Glynn born in Gort Co. Galway on the 14th Sept 1893. Their mother was Rosanna Rice born in Ballinasloe Co. Galway on the 14th Oct 1893. Comments:	Hi - I've established these facts. My great grandmother, Delia Agnes Glynn, born June 1869, immigrated to Boston in 1888-1890, married Martin J. Burke in 1893, was naturalized in 1895 and lived in Watertown, Massachusetts. Her brother Patrick Glynn is shown living with her in the 1900 Census. He was born about 1874. Passenger list for a Boston ship arrival on May 10, 1897 - the Scythia - shows a Patrick Glynn age 23, arriving and going to live in Watertown, MA. His last residence was Balla, Ireland. Balla is in County Mayo. Does anyone have a family connection to me??? Thanks! Ellen Theg

Comments:	William and his brother arrived in N.Z.in the late 1800 to settle in Greymouth on the West Coast. South Island. I beleive they came from Western Australia to N.Z. Williams brother returned to Aust. and changed his name to Bourke as I beleive he was in trouble with the law (,unusual for an Irishman )William married Mary Spencer and they had 5 children, Jack, Richard, Bill, Alicia, Julia,(my mother)all are decessed. Comments:	I'm trying to find info on my line. My grandfather was William Patrick Glynn III. He was a Lt. Colonel for the US Army and moved around. He had six children, Michael, WPG IV, Jerry, Regina, Greg and Suzanne. My father, WPG IV, went to Purdue University and relocated to the Washington, D.C. area afterwards. Comments:	Just starting to try to find my mom's family--My greatgrandfather was a James Glynn of New Orleans, had a brother John. By family talk, James was with the police department and John was in the military and then had a political job. They were said to have had a falling out. I have a photo of John and he had some military items displayed at the Cabilldo (sp) in New Orleans, a sword and epulets. Any help would be appreciated.

Agnes Kinnear (a sister to my g grandfather Henry) married Thomas Dolan and they lived Allumette Island, Quebec. I am told that their daughter Anne (Nancy) married James Berrigan and that they too lived Allumette Island. I am thinking that Patrick Berrigan would have been the son of James Berrigan and Anne Dolan .

Comments:	My daughter Gina Cote sent me this website. Amazing. I never saw a picture of my grandparents. When asked any family members left no one had any. Where and who had this picture I often wanted to see. My name now Margaret Curry both of my husband's died Frank Spiotti 1979 George Robert (Bob) Curry 1999. I asked my son Michael Spiotti to take digital picture of Glynn homestead and feed store while both are still standing. Also one of St. Patrick's church as Glynn's still go there or I should say those of other now generations. I know my grandfather helped to build St. Patrick's school which is now been taken down and a new one is up. This has been wonderful. It has answered some questions for me. Aunt Florence thought they came from Ireland and entered Newfunland but not sure. My second husband was from Saskatchewan and when looking for his dad's grave I found a Glynn plot. I know someone is burried in Prince Albert Sask. I myself wonder if the did arrive in Newfuland. Maby it was out west.

Comments:	Found your site interesting. I am the daughter of Albert W. Glynn. He was Mayor of Haverhill, Mass 1939-1950. Note: He was born in Haverhill, Mass. September 24, 1889. (Not Newburyport, Mass.) He died in Haverhill, Mass. on January 26,1968. He is buried in Newburyport, Mass. at St. Mary's Cemetery. I (Martha Ellen Glynn Mac Donald) was born in Haverhill, Mass. on October 5, 1932. I am married to Allister Frederick Mac Donald and have lived in Atkinson, NH since married on June 20, 1954. We have three adult children all married and living within 35 of here. Atkinson, NH adjoins Haverhill, Mass. Comments:	My father is James Patrick Glynn 1913-1980 and his father is Edward Glynn c.1860-1928 from Dublin. Edward was married to Elizabeth Toole and they had approx. ten children. That is all I know so far. I do not know if any of the Galway Glynn's moved to Dublin. Anyone related to the Mary Glynn that survived the Titanic? She settled in the US and I believe she raised a family. I live in Canada but was in Dublin recently visiting the national archives and Joyce House. It was lots of fun going through the 1900 & 1905 census documents. You can view all the persons living at the premises at the time. Comments:	I happened on to this site and having the name of Glynn in my family, I went into it. My Great great grandfather was John Sullivan b. 1830 in Cork, Ireland and he married Bridget Glynn b. Sept. 1835 in Galway, Ireland. Don't know if they married in Ireland or in the States. They both lived in Chicago, IL around 1852-1854. They were Catholic. Comments:	I know of a Martin Glynn born in 1830 in County Galway, Parish of Lackagh. He was married to Bridget Mullen in Dunham, England in 1851. A few years later they came to the US, possibly to Virginia, and by 1860 they came onto Minnesota. Martin may have had a sister, Jane who was born about 1845 in Galway. I'm trying to determine if Martin and Jane are indeed sister and brother. Martin's parents were John and Sarah Glynn according to the marriage record and Jane's parents were John Glynn and Cecila Burck. Does any of this fit into your Glynn history?

Comments:	My husband's great-grandfather, Patrick Skiffington, came from Donaghmore, Co. Tyrone, born possibly around 1820. He married a Bridget Kelly in the Basilica of the Blessed Assumption, in Baltimore, Maryland. A lister indicated that Kelly, Quinn, Skiffington and some others may all have been connected in and around Donaghmore. We have absolutely no information on this Bridget Kelly, other than the above, and that she may have ended up in New York (state) to be near her daughter, Mary Schultz, who married a John Schultz from Hamburg, Germany. As your Kellys seem to come from the other end of Ireland, it would seem that this is a shot in the dark to try to determine the whereabouts of the birth, etc., of my husband's Bridget Kelly. Any insights on how we could try to get a "fix" on her would be most appreciated. We have been trying to find where she came from for many, many years now, and always come up against a blank wall. Comments:	My roots go back to Crossboyne in County Mayo. Michael Glynn and Bridget Millette both of Caltra were married on 8 May, 1851. Michael was born sometime in 1818 and Bridget was born in October 1825. Their children were Jane, John, Mary, Bridget, Margaret and Thomas. Thomas (5/6/63 - 1/9/40)was my Great Grandfather. After Michael died, Bridget sent John to the US. She followed with the rest of the children and settled in Detroit sometime around 1871 or 72. Thomas married Nellie Kent around 1885 and was a butcher. They had at least 7 children including 4 sons, one of which was named Thomas Kent and called Kent. This was my Grandfather. He married Mildred Runde and they had two sons, Thomas Kent (Tommy) and William. Tommy (my father) married Phyllis Buschke in Detroit after WWII and had two sons, Michael (me) and Patrick. I moved to Minnesota in 1972 and married Peggy Kurtti. We have 12 children (3 sons, 9 daughters). I have quite a bit of information about the entire line from Michael of Caltra through today.
