Peter Wadkin Coleman was my GGG Grandfather and settled in the Cottonwood Point area in 1860. His son Benjamin Boyd Coleman who went by John was my GG Grandfather and Robert Clinton Coleman was my Great Grandpa, Joe Elmer Coleman was my Grandpa. I'm looking for anyone who has info on this family or their farms and where they are buried and would welcome contact with anyone who knew Robert or Joe before they moved to Dexter. Even pictures of their tombstones would be welcome. I know Boyd and his son Benjamin are buried in the same cemetery I'm just not sure where it's at. My mother still lives in Stoddard County so I'm over that way occasionally.

My brother Tom (1939) and I (1943) were born in Hayti. Dad had a farm between the Netherlands Elevator and the Main Ditch on road K. Visited the area in 2001 and don't see how they ever made a living on the land. We moved in 1944 to Charleston, Mo., and other places. Grandfather buried in Portageville, Mo. Thanks for the website.

I was Born In Missouri,have relatives in Dexter and Bloomfield who I am in contact with. My parents are now living in Dexter with my Grandmother while they care for her. My children love driving across the Mississippi Bridge, it has been tradition in our family to hold our breath once we hit the bridge in Illinois until we reach the other side of the bridge in Missouri. My brothers and sisters and I started in as children. Now my children do it. In May 2002 we will be celebrating my parents 50th Wedding anniversary in Dexter Missouri. Started researching the Pullam family to find my granpa's family links as a gift to my dad . I'm having fun learning about my home state Missouri. It is the most beautiful, friendly state.
