SURNAMES: SLAUGHTER, HICKMAN
Comments:
Seeking information on Morris SLAUGHTER, born 1913 in Kennett, Dunklin, MO, son of Gilbert Franklin 'Frank' SLAUGHTER and Effie HICKMAN. I can only assume by Jan 2007, that Morris has died.

Morris was in Grand Rapids, MI in 1930, but shortly after 1930, came back down to Dunklin County.

It is my understanding that Morris was crippled in some way, but married. I do not know if children were born into this union or the name of the spouse.

Frank was born 15 May 1882 in Weakley County, TN, USA and died 11 Jan 1947 Kennett, Dunklin, MO, USA. Effie was born 29 Aug 1878 Jackson, MO, USA and died 27 Oct 1948 Kennett, Dunklin, MO, USA.

Any help would be greatly appreicated!

Thanks,

Tracy SLAUGHTER

I am looking for any information on Maggie Poole Summers who was married to John Summers in the 1890's and I think died in 1911 in Missouri. They had 6 children: Gertie, Bertha, Clyde, Raymond, Bessie. I have some of the census listing them in Dunklin County. I would like to know when Maggie Summers died and what her maiden name was (for sure). I know that her Mother's name was Mary Pool or Poole and that she later married a man with the last name McDaniel or McDaniels. What was Mary's maiden name and who was Maggie's father. If you have any information about these families please contact me. Thank you, Rena Gee

SURNAMES: DAVIS, PRUITT, ANDERSON, WAGNER
Comments:
Mr. L.V. Davis was murdered, stab wound to the heart, on November 16, 1924. According to his death certificate (#31397), Mr. Van ANDERSON, informant, claimed L.V. DAVIS was abt 35 years old and married (no spouse name listed), born in Henderson Co., TN and his parents were Asa and Rachel DAVIS. LV, a citizen of Salem, was buried in Senath cemetery on Nov. 17, 1924.

Earlier Mr. LV DAVIS married Rachel WAGGONER (many spelling variations) in Dunklin Co. and I believe she was related to the informant, Van ANDERSON.

Mr. LV DAVIS also consented to the marriage of his dau, Alsie (?) to GW PRUETT in Dunklin Co.

Otherwise, I cannot find information on this man other than he shows striking similarites to my own DAVIS family. We are descended of four DAVIS boys, born out of wedlock to Asa HAYS and Rachel Davis DERRYBERRY in Henderson Co., TN. One son, Thomas was said to have died young, having been murdered in Dunklin Co. I have not found a death record (or living record for that matter) for Thomas DAVIS, so you can understand why I am so curious about this LV DAVIS.

If you have any information about this people and the events listed, please contact me.

Thank you,
Gena DAVIS
