Hi,
Very interested in your site. There are Saxman's in the Schall/Shaull book that was published in the late l0's. I thought I would let you know that I have established a live site on genebase.com. Anyone related to Nicholas, Michael or Andrew Schall may contact myself or Rodney Shaull to join the other 59 live members. Because it would be impossible to produce a book any more we thought this would be a better idea. Remember it is a live format to update your current information. Great site.

Hello All My Family,
This is Heather McCutcheon now married as Heather Ware. I a the daughter of Loraine Saxman and Grand Daughter of Peter Saxman.
I am sitting in downtown Philadelphia this exact moment. I have never been to PA and will not have time to get out to Westmoreland County, PA which is where the Saxman mine was because I am here on business.
But let me tell you how proud I feel. As a Nevada Girl on my Father's side I have always felt that my good nature came from his side... BUT.... the people of PA have been kind, friendly and progressive.
I guess my Mother's side of the family runs deeper in my soul then I ever knew. I felt at home the minute we got off the plane. this trip is what I will tell my children about over and over. You never know maybe Penn State is in their future!
Today and always... I am proud to be the Daughter of a Saxman and I can't wait to show all the great photos to my Mother, Loraine and Sister Holly.
I am married to Aaron Ware and I now have 2 children.
My Daughter, 3, Gabrielle Grace Ware
My Son, 2, Benjamin Hardin Ware
Warm wishes,
Heather Ware

Their was a man that came to West Virginia and open coal mines in Nicholas Co,West Virginia. He was known as Mr Saxman and he built a coal mineing town ,that was named Saxman. Their was a church, school, store, bowling alley, theater, coke ovens, and guite a few 2 story houses as well as single story houses. He stayed hear until (I think the 40,s ) when he went back to Pa.,because he would not let the union tell him how to run his business. I remember my dad telling us ,when we were kids. His dad moved his family to Saxman in 1927. The only reamins of the town now a old cement pillars where some building rested on. Hope this help some of your famil out. Their is also a cementary their.

What a great site! Thanks for all the hard work. Enjoyed the
pictures, timeline, and genealogy for Reddick Massengale. My family comes from the line of Reddick massengale and Francis Hawk. Their daughter, Mary married Joel A. Osborn. Their son, George Washington Ausburn, changed the spelling of the surname. We don't know if it was his idea or due to the census taker. Happened in mid 1880's in Baxter Co., AR.
Our family history has it that Reddick and/or Frances were indian. Have you found any evidence of that in your research? Thanks, Sue Ausburn Gilhooley

Hi Folks,
My wife is a Brook from the Amory, Smithville, Hatley area of MS. There are a lot of Cokers in the extended family. We have a bit of land in the Bethlehem Church area near Smithville that is called the "Old Coker Farm". There are a few acres and a house set aside from our land that were occupied by Durwood Coker and his wife. I haven't done a lot of research on the Coker lines, but would like to fill in some of the gaps; like where Durwood fits in the tree.
Any Info? Best regards, Pete

Niether of them do I speak with or know where they are located. My objective is to locate my specific decendants and family history. The reason being is I have been told alot of things about my family from an unreliable source. All I wish is to know the truth. If any one knows a direction I should take I am open to any suggestions, especially since this is my first time looking for any information. Thank you for such a helpful website. This could be the begging to the answers to my questions.

It's a wonderful and very helpful website. I am related to the Soxman's. Matthias is my gggg grandfather. I am a little confused. All the other info I have received from a biography of PA families states that John Soxman is Ezra's father. I had found in the 1860 census that Ezra is living with Sarah Soxman in the Armel home. That would make Frederic and Sarah his parents. Do you have any concrete facts on this relationship? I would appreciate any info you have. Thanks. Teresa

Samuel Keltz (b 1856, d 1924) was my Great Grandfather. His wife's name was Martha (last name?) who was born in 1860 and died in 1948. As a youngster, I knew her as "Momma Keltz". They are buried in Ligonier, PA in the large cemetery on the outskirts of town.
Martha's father was killed in the Civil War. Martha's Mother raised a total of 16 children mostly as a widow. Thirteen were her own, and three were her sister's who resided in Latrobe. The sister had serious health problems and was unable to tend her children. Following the war, Martha's Mother remarried and relocated to Kansas taking most of the children with her. I think the new husband's surname was Nicely. Supposedly, he received a land grant of a 1,000 acres near Topeka. The state government wanted the land for government buildings, and he was well-compensated for his grant.
Sam and Martha adopted or just raised my Grandmother M. Pearl Smith. I am not sure of her birthname. I suspect that it was also Nicely. She married Joseph Smith. They are buried next to Sam and Martha Keltz.

I an still looking for info on the Massingale's , haven't found anything new lately. But did notice your listing in the Lamar Democrat search for Sanders. I also have been searching some on the Sanders as my g grandmother was a Sanders from Fayette Co. Al. Am not sure but think that John M. Sanders was her father, he was listed as born in Tenn. Had noticed Issac listed in 1850 and 1860 Fayette co. census, don't know very much as she died when my grandfather was young. Will keep searching the Sanders line to.

My compliments to you. I may want to borrow a couple of ideas from you (with your permission) when I get to some point to publish a web site down the road. I'm just a beginner at this time.
I may be able to provide some information on the Robertson side of your research. My father was one of the listed Living Robertsons, married to Irene Burns(Burner).
I just hit your site and my parents walked in. We are leaving to go out to eat. I will continue with a followup e-mail (with more information) within the next couple of days.
Best Regards
Ron Robertson

Scott, I'm very impressed with all your hard work and effort. This is about the third time I have visited your Website and I seem to learn more each time. Thanks for adding the guestbook as this makes it much easier for all relatives to document our sincere appreciation for what you and Allison have done. Only yesterday while conversing with a business associate I mentioned the difficulty of staying in contact with relatives, and mentioned that I am still remiss about not attending Gram's funeral and being included in the photo of all the cousins. That is a great photo of which I have a copy but not the memory. I am truly proud to have you as my cousin. What you have done is great. Send me an email or call me at 800-541-2539 ext. 8277 and we can exchange address As we should at least exchange Christmas cards and perhaps stay in contact. Take care and give my best to all in your family. Thanks, Frank
