Comments:	Two letters were found from a Marie Cecelia AALDERS [nee LONERGAN] to her mother, Alveretta LONERGAN [married to Daniel] from Feb and Mar 1931. Marie was a patient at the time in the Kentville Sanatorium, Kentville, NS. If anyone is interested in copies of the letters, pls let me know. As the original letters were found at the camp of someone else, they are being kept by his daughters, however, I thought someone might be interested in having a copy as a family keepsake. Best (1934-2004), came on 28 July 1749 with Hopson's and Warburton's Regiments from Louisbourg to Chebuctoo (Halifax) where they joined Colonel Cornwallis and his settlers. William Best,Master Mason,and his friend John Burbidge were "Sergeants acting as foremen of artificers" repairing the damaged buildings of Louisbourg from 1746 to 1749. Their regiment had been ordered from Gibraltar to Cape Breton in October 1745. William Best was one of the founders of Halifax. He later acquired land in Cornwallis next to his friend and kinsman John Burbidge - Best's son John married Burbidge's niece Jane (Jenny). William Best and John Burbidge donated the original St John's Church at Fox Hill, Cornwallis.

He and Miriam are buried in the Billtown Baptist cemetery. I am a descendant through his son Reuben, who was a shoe/boot maker and moved his family to Lynn, Massachusetts. Reuben's son and grandson were both named Omer Wellington Chase. I know that Nancy Perry is also looking for information on family line. Anybody else? I have found that Somerset County here in Maine had a lumberman by the name of Omer Wellington Chase alive at the same time as my ancestors and have been trying to discover the link between the two families--it just seems like too much of a coincidence!

They had several children, of which Louis [ lEWIS] was one. I, have done extensive work on the Leopold families of New Ross, and would love to know a few details regarding Kempton's family. Comments:	I have been able to confirm my Whalen family back to 1830 in Kings County but I'm unable to confirm Walton Whalen's parents because I don't have their marriage record which may have his parents listed. I believe its William Walton son of John Walton who was born in 1749 and died 24 dec 1823 and buried in the Pereau Cemetary. I also was not able to locate my Grandmother and Grandfather on the 1901 Census although they were married in Canning on 30 April 1896, were both located on the 1891 Census in Kings County and on the 1910 US Censes. Anyway it has been a delight learning about Canning, Kings County and Nova Scotia. It bring my Grandmother back to me as I feel she's with me and smiling because her Mary is seeing why she loved her Nova Scotia so much. Grandmother Charlotte was born in Port William in 1876 and died in Beverly, Massachusetts USA in 1962. She use to spend hours talking about her Nova Scotia.

Comments:	Hi, I married a girl from Berwick I met while stationed at CFB Greenwood. Karen's (wife) farther Lambert Ogilvie's family have many anscestors buried in the Burlington Cemetery over by Harbourville. The Ogilvie name has been around the Bay for many generations. Lambert is still going strong, 83 years old, and still lives in Berwick on Foster St. Karen has two brothers buried in Burlington. Arthur died approx 1980 and James died 1999. It is amazing how much information is available on the internet but of course there are many missing pieces. I've only been playing around with this "search for the anscestors" a short while but it is fun and interesting. Thanks for the web site.
