Comments:
I have been researching the Langley line for some time now. I can go back to my g-g-g-grandfather, George Washington Langley, born in 1792, but cannot discover who his father is. It could be David Langley, (spouse Mary Dore--married in 1791 (Virginia). But cannot verify that. I do not know if the Langley you mentioned is a descendant. I need to get beyond George W., and that has been a losing battle for now. Your site was very interesting. Enjoyed it. Trish

Have been researching the Lee family for years. Enjoyed reading the 1938 letter.

We have one written by Miller Lee, in 1845, in Rusk Co, TX about the Lee linage. And there is the preverbial "Robert E Lee" connection that has been carried down through our family too. (Thomas Helm Lee that built Stutavant (spelling) Hall in Selma, AL. is a direct line ancestor of mine)

And I use Legacy Software, and love it!!

Hi, I happened onto your site while searching the Bell family. I don't think it is of the same family, but wanted you to know how much I enjoyed your site. Even though I don't think the Bell connection is the same as mine, I was amazed at the amount of people that you have that have traveled the same areas through the same time spans that my families of research have. Mainly from Georgia to Mississippi and then on into Texas after the Civil War. There is one name "Boykins" that I think is somewhere in my line. I am going to put your site in my saves and will get back to you when I find it. It is an unusual name, I think is the reason I remember it, but not one that is commonly connected in my family. I also live in San Angelo, Tx.

Ex-husband (Robert G. Leal) from Pleasanton TX. Saw the pictures of Leal Cemetary. Robert's father ('Chon Leal) and grandfather (Manuel Leal) were just recently laid to rest there. It's scary how similar Ryan and Robert look alike. Robert is living in Austin and is a Police Officer with Austin Police Dept.

Hi: What a wonderful job you have done in your research. The site is absolutely fascinating and I wish I could say that I found something of mine but my research while it is 30 yrs in doing is not that complete to match any of your. Thank you for sending this. I have kept your e-mail and I will check back from time to time to see any changes. If you ever see anything on James M. Mallett of Cleburne, Johnson Co. Tex for the years of 1900-1909. He died there but so far (even tho I've sent for it). I don't know where he is buried. Thanks so much for all you do.

Are we kin? What names are you hunting? Antonio Leal
Your location San Antonio, Texas
Comments:
I'm a US Navy Chief Petty Officer currently stationed in Pearl Harbor w/wife and three children. I met a Petty Officer 2nd Class by the name of "Bruno Leal". He has a family tree of five generations given to him by an aunt. According to it, Bruno and your son-in-law, Marco are "familia"...

Both you and Bruno list the same names/dates as per the following:

Bruno's grandfather, Jesus, is a brother to "Felipe Ximenez Leal" (Oct 18, 1911-April '84). Felipe's wife is "Guadalupe Garza". According to Bruno's list, Jesus and Felipe have 13 other siblings... (I believe one of them, Juan Leal, is my 2nd Great-Grandfather. Still researching it...)

Felipe is son to "Juan Leal, Sr." ( May 6, 1862-May 3, 1927)and "Carmen Jimenez" (Sep 28, 1870-Sep 13, 1945).

**I have a recent piture of Juan's headstone located in "Cemeterio Leal", just off of Leal Rd. near the Leal Community Ranch. Bruno couldn't believe his eyes when he saw it! There are some really old gravesites in that place.
I'll email you the jpg...

You also have listed, in Alana Nicole's tree, Juan's father, "Manuel Leal". Bruno's list includes this gentleman as Jose Manuel. The only discrepancie here is Bruno's list has a birthdate of 1835...
(Those days of Texas history were just a bit stressful, especially for those of hispanic decent. So I'm flexible with this birthdate... Hopefully you are as well.)
According to Bruno's list, Jose Manuel died Apr 2, 1917.

Bruno's list includes Jose Manuel's wife, "Felicita Casas" (1837-Jun 9, 1914).

Both you and Bruno have a a birthdate of 1800 for Manuel's father "Antonio Leal". Bruno's list indicates a first name of Jose...

Jose Antonio Leal's father, as written in Bruno's list, is only shown as "Francisco". I have only seen one Francisco in another geneology site. This man's name was Francisco Raphael Leal... From what I saw, he is linked to the Canary Islanders (Islenos) who are listed on the historical marker in front of the San Antonio Courthouse. Those folks are credited with establishing the first "civil government" in Texas, back in the 1730's. See Juan Leal Goras...

As I stated before, I'm still researching my tree... I only need one name, the name of my 2nd Great-Grandfather's wife's name to verify my link to the list of Leal names that Marco and Bruno share... Who knows, I may also be another name on your list as well.

Well, I'm off to email Juan's picture to you. Give my regards to your family, especially little Alana Nicole.
I know she's very special to you.
My oldest daughter's name is Harley Nicole. Maybe there's something more to this tree afterall...

Very respectfully, David M. Leal, FCC(SW), USN.

Found it at last! Great site. I wish I had the knowledge and patience to do one myself.
Looking at those photos made me think of Littlefield genes.
My grandfather Alfred William Littlefield was a (Royal)Marine and was killed in WW1 when HMS Hermes was sunk by torpedos from a German U-Boat in Straits of Dover. His father,Jacob Littlefield was in Metropolitan Police(Thames Division)for thirty years.About five of his descendants all served in Met Police too(including myself for 10 years until Andrew was born)My husband has just retired after 30 years also!!
Co-incidence or what??
Keep up the good work
