Comments:
Hi, I found your site while researching my ggrandmother Lelia Johnson/ Shuler born 7 April 1900. I have been trying to find Sarah H. Brendles husbands side ( Johnson) born in Macon, N.C. As well as where does my branch fit on this huge tree. My mammaw and pappaw shuler raised my mother. Her mother was Estella Shuler/Sorrells. She married William Sorrells but he is not my mothers father. unfortunately I will never be able to fill that gap. My mother found a letter from Charles Arthur Peterson from Washinton D.C. where my mother was conceived and born. So she gave my mother to her grandparents. Its a terrible story my mother tells me. And she has lived to resent her mother. But my mother has a sister to William Sorrells. Billie Mae Sorrells which familysearch has her listed as a male. She currently resides in Candler,N.C. I thank you for this wonderful site. Thank you and God bless.

Phyllis I have been researching the rector lineage, as my other kin for over 45 years. Poking thru growth of weeds for markers, asking relatives for a tidbit on my heritage. Had a lot of meanspirited kinfolk that did not want to give me any information. I made it part of my daily life to find out who we were, where we came from and a little about all theses fabulous generations. It would be a pleasure to share my information. who knows? My mother was a Rector, I have traced back and proven that we came from Germany. regards della

I am interested in the statment below about Aquilla Lowe ant the fort in Greene County. I have been researching Aquilla for several years and believe this is the same Aquilla Lowe who moved to Beaver Ridge (now Karns), Knox County Tennessee. Aquilla died there in 1818. I have his will and a great deal of court and deed information about him. My family are the descendents or a marriage between Aquilla Lowe's daughter, Elizabeth, and James Scott's son, Lawrence Scott, Sr. Also interest in the relationship between Issac, Aquilla and Caleb Lowe. Please contact me if you have any information about any of these people or places.
Another Lowe who is missing from the early Surry tax lists but who was in Wilkes County by 1778,was Aquila Lowe, who had a 500-acre grant on both sides of Moravian Creek. He did not remain in Wilkes lomg, but removed to Green County, Tennessee, where he established Lowe's Fort, which was used during the later years of the American Revolution.
Thanks
Wayne

Are you related to Bee Hance who was married to Ida Barnes? She was a sister of my maternal grandfather Oscar Barnes. My maternal grandmother is Marietta Garner Barnes. Lonnie Gray was married to my maternal great aunt Frances Garner. I knew Virgie and Silas well. If you will email me the info you need I could possibly help obtain it. Sincerely, Tricia

I would like to correct the birthdate for the amanda ingram that married john henry brendle from macon/haywood/cherokee co. NC She was born in 1838 not 1828 as most of the Brendle/Cochran genealogists think. The 1850 Cherokee Co. Census has her as 12 years old. This would make the same age as her husband instead of ten years older. Her parents were John Ingram and Mary Hall. Her grandparents were Robert Ingram and Jane Elizabeth Martin of Buncombe Co. thanks.

I'm working (never ends) on a file concerning the collective families in Virginia prior to 1775. I would be happy to share this if you will contact me directly. Peggy Chapman is a distant cousin of mine. If you can tie into the Pendleton District folks in South Carolina, I can probably help. I look forward to learning more about your research. Thanks. My name is Hermon Rector Jr. My fathers name is Hermon Rector Sr. My grandfathers name was Tommy Hugh Rector. My great grandfathers name was Charles Rector and that's about as far as I can get. All of the names mentioned live or lived in and around the Madison County area in North Carolina. All are burried in the Bowman/Rector cemetary in Marshall N.C. The only famous or note worthy Rector related to me as far as I know was Edward F. Rector. He was a pilot with the original Flying Tigers in China in 1940-41. He passed away this year and is burried in Arlington Cemetary. I'm told that he was my fathers 1st or 2nd cousin.
I'm sorry I don't have alot of information to get started with but I'm willing to work at it with a little help. My family history is something I'm very interested in.
Thank you.

Take care,
