Comments:	Lucretia Brown married Wilder Crawford in 1856. He passed on after the war in 1865. Her father passed on in 1870-1871. I do not know his name. Lucretia was from a family of 10. I know she had a unmarried sister named Maria M. and a brother named James R..I know they lived in the area but can find no info on them. I love your site. He married Rebecca circa 1802 in New York. Rebecca was born 29 May, 1783 at the Town of Hoosick, Rensselaer Co., NY to John Sisson and Alcha CRANDALL. Job died 12 March, 1855 at Chautauqua CO., NY. Rebecca died 14 March, 1867 at Chautauqua Co., NY. Both are buried in Fluvanna Cemetery, Town of Ellicott, Chatauqua Co., NY. Several of their children either settled in or passed through Ashtabula Co., OH. 1. Anson Wilbur, born circa 1803 in NY, married Mershey/Mercia GRIFFIN circa 1826. Anson died 1 August, 1874 at the Town of Sheridan, Chautauqua Co., NY. Mershey was born 1 November, 1806 at Sidney, Delaware Co., NY and died 12 March, 1881 at Rock Creek, Ashtabula Co., OH. They had six children: Harvey G. Wilber (1830-1906, married Eunice COVILL, six children); Frances E. Wilbur (1834-1911, married Henry Tilby SMITH, four children, NOTE: They were grandparents of the Tilby L. Smith who was executed for murder in 1931); Frederick A. Wilbur (1837-1905, married Angelina Ida BELDING 4 March, 1863 in Geneva Twp., Ashtabula Co., OH, one known daughter); Mary Wilbur (1841-?, married ? HARDENBERG); Isabell P. Wilbur (1843-1927, married 1. Henry HALE, four children, married 2. Horace F. BEAN) and Mershey R. Wilbur (1845-? NFI) 2. David Wilbur, born circa 1805 in Otsego Co., NY, married Lucinda CAGWIN prior to 1828 in Delaware Co., NY. Lucinda was a daughter of War of 1812 veteran Gardner Cagwin and his wife, Candace DART. David died 2 February, 1880 at Custer, Mason Co., MI. Lucinda died 19 January, 1880 at Custer, Mason Co., MI. Both are thought to be buried in unmarked graves in the Custer Cemetery. (The cemetery records burned in the early 1960s.) They had four known children: William C. Wilbur (1828-1895, married 1. Adeline JEROME, no issue, married 2. Emily A. HAMMOND Waterbury, five children. NOTE: William C. was my husband’s great-great-grandfather.); Ambrosia F. Wilbur (1835-1910, married Benjamin L. JEROME, two known children. NOTE: Ambrosia was the Postmaster of Harpersfield Station for many years.); Alanson Wilbur (circa 1840-1863, KIA, Battle of Campbell Station, TN while serving as a Private in Co. D, 23 Michigan Volunteer infantry in the Civil War) and Job Wilbur (1846-1916, married Alma THOMAS, five known children.) NOTE: I have copious records on the Michigan branch of this family. Only Ambrosia and her husband remained in Ashtabula Co. and I would like whatever data might be available on their descendants.) 3. John S. Wilbur, known to have died in 1880 in Pennsylvania. Also known to have been a resident of Warren Co., PA at one time. NFI. 4. Curtis Wilbur, born 1810 in the Town of Stockton, Chautauqua Co., NY, married Martha SAFFORD 20 August, 1844 at Ripley, Chautauqua Co., NY. Curtis died 21 August, 1884 at the Town of Sheridan, Chautauqua Co., NY. Martha was born in 1822 at Pomfredt, Chautauqua Co., NY and died in 1909 at the Town of Sheridan, Chautauqua Co., NY. Both are buried in the Sheridan Center Cemetery, Town of Sheridan, Chautauqua Co., NY. They had one known daughter, Jennie Wilbur, born circa 1848, who died in 1920. It appears that she never married. She is also buried in the Sheridan Center Cemetery. 5. Eliza Ann Wilbur, birthdate unknown, married Frank BORSHERT or BORSHANK 9 January, 1840 at the Town of Sheridan Chautauqua Co., NY. She died in 1880 in Versailles, Allegheny Co., PA. NFI. 6. Charles Wilbur, born circa 1815 in New York, married Aurelia ? They apparently had no natural children, but they did adopt two: Elizabeth Lambert Osborn “Lizzieö Wilbur and Francis Abner Billington “Frankö Wilbur. Charles died 25 April, 1880 at Rock Creek, Ashtabula Co., OH. Aurelia died 8 March, 1879 at Morgan Twp., Ashtabula Co., OH. 7. Cornelius D. Wilbur, born 16 April, 1817 at Franklin, Delaware Co., NY, died 25 March, 1900 at Harpersfield, Ashtabula Co., OH at the home of his niece, Ambrosia Wilbur Jerome. Buried in Bishop Cemetery, Harpersfield, Ashtabula Co., OH. No other survivors were mentioned in his obituary, so it is likely that he never married. He was known to have been a merchant in Pennsylvania. 8. Simeon Wilbur, born 22 June, 1822 at Undilla, Otsego Co., NY. Married Christiana GRIFFITH 9 May, 1848. Christiana was born 3 July, 1827 to Samuel Griffith and Eliza SIMMONS. Simeon died 17 February, 1875 at the Town of Gerry, Chautauqua Co., NY. Christiana died 24 January, 1924 at Chautauqua Co., NY. Both lie buried in plot 200 of the Fluvanna Cemetery, Ellicott Twp., Chautauqua Co., NY. Their children were: Charles A. Wilbur (1850-1899, married 1. Abby DAMON in 1872, married 2. Delle CARRIER. There appear to have been no children from either marriage); Chestina Elsie Wilbur (1853-1854, buried in Fluvanna Cemetery, Ellicott Twp., Chautauqua Co., NY) and Frank Simeon Wilbur (1862-1920, married Jessie COBB, no apparent children. NOTE: Frank died in Wichita, KS, but a centotaph for him was erected in the Fluvanna Cemetery.) Many thanks to Roger Frane of Ashtabula Co. Stephen was married to a Hannah Trask Holcomb Foster and had two children together... Stephen C. Jr. and Jesse Freeman. Stephen Sr. is my great great grandfather. George P. Meaney was married to my Great Aunt Lena Ryan Meaney. He died in 1916 in an accident, I believe it had something to do with the RR, as his wife Lena filed a wrongful death suit and won 3,500.00 for damages. Pam

Comments:	I recenly found out that Patrick Brennan from Astabula Co., Ohio is listed in the Index of the Naturalization Records of Ashtabula Co.,Ohio 1875-1906, Jefferson, Ohio: The society, 1982. 110/. page 12 Also the Source information: Gale Research. Passenger and Immigration Lists Index, 1500s-1900s (database online) Would like to know where I can access this online? My Ancestors are Patrick Brennan wife Bridget Brennan, both were born in Ireland and died in 1875 in Ohio. I do not know for sure. I have cemetery records that state they are buried in St. Joseph's cemetery, but I can't find their headstones. Patrick was born abt. 1814 and Bridget about 1823. The other Surename is Ryan: Dennis Ryan married to AnaStacia Carroll. Both died in Ashtabula and are buried in St. Joseph's Cemetery also. Dennis was born in Wexford County Ireland 1831 & she was born in 1833 in Ireland, not sure where. Any help would be greatly apprecieated. Thanks, Pam

Comments:	I am researching the family of John H. Graham and his wife, Sarah Ann Feasler Hickey Graham. Sarah was born in Erie, PA the daughter of Karl Fussler/Fuessler/Feasler and Rebecca Throne. She married (1) William Hickey,and they had one son, William Charles Hickey, b. 1872. Shortly after, William Hickey drowned on Lake Eire. She then married John H. Graham of Ashtabula co. They had two sons, Scott Graham, b. 1884 and Edward "Eddie" who drowned in Lake Erie after 1901. While the sons were children, John H. Graham died and Sarah returned to Erie, PA and married (3) Andrew Chapman. We are searching for information about John H. Graham, his parents and family.

"In 1834 Major Sanborn built a store across the street from the tavern and south of the post office, and In the Autumn, in company with two brothers, John W. and David Haskell, put in a stock of goods. They ran a thriving business for about ten years. In 1845 Mr. Sanborn sold his share to Edwin R. Williams, and the firm became Haskell and Williams. In 1847 they sold to Maj. Reubin Sanborn and Hiram Judson, and the firm became Sanborn and Judson. The dealt largely in lumber and their trade grew on their hands. In 1850 Mr. Sanborn sold his share to William H. James is listed as J N Blackstone in 1910 PA. census with Cora and Amber. All born PA. They moved to Ohio and are in the 1930 Stark co., Canton, Ohio census. James Blackstone passed away 1924. Cora Blackstone passed away 1941. Have obituaries. Amber lived at home with her mother til some time after her death and then moved to Ashtabula, Ohio. Married a Walter Phillips?? also from Stark co., Canton, Ohio. They owned cabins and a gas station there. Know they were there in 1951 when my aunt and uncle visited them.

The founder of the Hawley family in Jefferson was Timothy Ruggles Hawley (1771-1828), my g.g.g.grandfather. He served as the first clerk of Ashtabula County from 1811 until his death in 1828. The first member of the Loomis family to settle in Jefferson was Harrison Loomis(1804-1894). He was my g.g.grandfather.

COWDEN in Andover Twp., on page 107 of the census. Other known children were: James S b.1826, Maria b.1828, Aurea (Ora) b.1834. James died before 1840 for Lucy is found living in Gustavus Twp., Trumbull Cty, and she remarried in March 1842 - to the widower Noah Coleman. James Cowden is said to have been born in Conn. - one site states Lucy was born in Vermont. Comments:	James Hamilton & Emma Hamilton came to Ashtabula County from Greene County, Pennsylvania between 1881-1904. I found James with Emma and 3 children in the 1880 census, William W., Minor S, and Mary. All born in PA. In Lenox Center Cemetery I also found a J. Tomp Hamilton born in 1882 and in the 1930 census born in Pennsylvania so I think he is another brother. William W. Hamilton is my family. He married Wilhemina Gabler first and had four children, William M., Harold F., James B., and Elizabeth L. Then he married Josephine King and had 4 more children as I know of. Comments:	Elijah Gibbs was born on May 23, 1792 to Samuel and Charlotte (Tourgee) Gibbs. He moved to Williamsfield about 1837. By then he had five children Parnell who became Mrs. Andrew Leffingwell, George W. who moved to Padanarum, Charlotte who became Mrs. Thomas Simons, Hiram who moved to Michigan, Elijah who moved to Michigan, and Alexander who moved to Michigan. Charlotte lived in Williamsfield, Parnell lived in Jamestown, PA, George Gibbs lived in Richmond Township and the rest moved to Michigan in 1851. Elijah married Harriet Allen in 1822. Elijah's sister Lucy moved to Williamsfield about 1820 with the Heath families. George Gibbs was born in 1824 and married Mary Waters about 1845. He died in 1915 and she died in 1892. His children were William born about 1846 Belona born about 1851, first married Philetus Heath and then Isiah Dustman, Laura born 1852 married James Britton and died in 1916, Auvern was born about 1854 and married Susan?, Walton H. was born in 1856 and married Mildred Caldwell 1881, and then died in 1899, Lincoln who was born 1857 died 1861, and finally George who was born in 1863 married Della Stanclift 1887 and had four children, Gertie, Myrtle, Ernest, and Francelia Elizabeth born in 1903 married Alton Woodard 1920 and died in 1986.

Comments:	William Rodgers came to Colebrook in the 1870's. His son Gaylord Fulton Rodgers is my decendent. He married Bertha Cleeve. William Rodgers was born in 1823 in Ireland and died in 1895 in Colebrook. Bertha Cleeve's parents were Henry and Elizabeth (Hayes) Cleeve. Another name for Elizabeth could be Elizabeth Hurlburt or Mrs. Oscar Hurlbert because when Henry died she married again.

Comments:	My great-uncle was Joe Joyce. He and his wife, Gert, lived on a farm right across the stree from where the reservoir is now. They had a daughter who married a William (?) Hanna. Joe's sister Mamie (Mary) Joyce married Hugh Mills, who ran the general store at the turn of the century. Hugh's sister Edith married Lou George. They lived in Rock Creek all their lives. My father, Joseph Joyce, lived in Rock Creek as a child and graduated from Rock Creek High School. He lived with his aunts: Ceil and Nan (Anna) Joyce. They lived near the White family (Sarah).
