Comments:
Ted,
My wife is the daughter of Don and Marilyn (Katt) Kuhn. Years ago, Don showed me a lot of ancestry information from a letter you had sent him in 1987. I used that and information from Marilyn to put together a small chart of the Kuhn and Katt lines. I was very happy to find that your research has added additional info. on this site as I am putting some charts and documents together for a Don/Marilyn Kuhn family get together at Fred's house in Virginia in just over two weeks. We, the Parkers, will be travelling from Los Angeles but the rest of the family will have shorter trips from Florida and the Chicago area. Thanks for sharing your work.

Hello:
Rebecca Lane was my mother's adoptive-mother.
I have a geneological chart prepared by her sister Harriett which goes back to Henry Dixon on the Arnold side, and also info on the Daniel Webster Lane side. I will be continuing to enter the data (I got as far as Mendenhall) on my Lane Family Tree. You have most of the same data (and some I don't have). But there is a bit that isn't on your data.
Thanks so much for all your work. Isn't this great fun, searching our pasts?

Comments:
I collect Dardingers. Lately I've been adding ancestor trees for spouses of Dardingers. One Dardinger married a Wendell Guinther whose mother was Evelyn R Ruckman. So I'm tracing the Ruckmans. Her Father was James Ruckman b 24 Apr 1872. I also have the problem with the missing generation in the 1880 census. I haven't checked this newer version of the Ruckman tree to see if anyone's found who James Ruckman's father was.

Ted,

Your email bounced back to me. Would you like a photocopy of the original Ruckman deed dated 2 Sept 1807 (btw Elizabeth Ruckman and her siblings)? I just inherited a pile of documents from my Doyle side – my Great Uncle Glen Shingleton had this stuff from his mother, Clersia Doyle and in it is this original deed. It took me a week to figure out who it referred to because I didn’t have any Ruckman info in my file.

Please email me at sarah@sarahshingleton.com – if you are interested, my genealogy homepage is www.sarahsgenealogy.lunarpages.com/gedcom

What do you think of the site? good
Your line of Ruckman descendant Thomas, Mary, Elizabeth
Comments:
Mary Ruckman b. abt 1780 married Jacob Clark in Easton Pa. abt. 1800.
They settle new land in Candor twnshp, Tioga Co. New York 1810 to 1815.
After Jacob's death 1843, she and Elizabeth Ruckman are living with Richard and Elizabeth R. Baker in Candor 1850 census.

A Thomas Ruckman is found in the same county in 1840 in Owego N.Y..
In deeds of transfer purchased by Richard Baker land is set aside for Thomas Ruckman and Elizabeth Ruckman.
In one deed it makes reference to one of those restrictions but calls him Thomas Buck. This coupled with the frequent misidentification of the name as Buckman makes me wonder why the name is problematic.
All three were born about 1780 +- 5 years

She married a Bockover in CA. Can't find out if she is stepdtr or real. Depending on how you do the census, Opal was 15 0r 16 when she had her. Did Ida Sinninger remarry?

Keep up the good word. You must have put a lifetime into all this detailed information, and to be willing to share with all. Great job! I will most certainly visit your website again to gleen more of that wonderfull genealogy.
Thanks again.

What do you think of the site? Looks good. I didn't care for the pop-ups, either.
Suggestions for improvements. I'm a newbie myself. Maybe next time.

First guestbook I've signed, but you connected me to the immigrant ancestor. Like you I have long figured that all the Ruckmans--except for the obviously German Ruekemanns--were one family. Keep up the good work.
