I just happend to come across this website. I don't know if I am related to these Clines, but would like to find out.
I think my Cline ancestors came from Pennsylvania. My father (age 99)is the son of Henry A. Cline who moved to Wharton County, Texas in 1899 from Woodville, Texas.

My last known 5th generation ancestor is William Kline/Cline b. 1802 at the foothills of the Alleghenies, PA, where his father was murdered for a payroll. Eldest of 7 children,names unknown. Died in Richland Co., WI in 1870's.

I have been researching my African American Hull family from Lincoln & Catawba Counties in NC. My great-great grandfather Silas or Silus Hull (born 1826) married Mary Cline (with the permission of the slave owners) in 1840 in Catawba or Lincoln Counties. Thomas Clyne married a cherokee named Melvina Wright. They had son named Eli Clyne in 1836. His son Ezekial Cline born 1860 had son Eli Jack Cline who married Elizabeth J. Miller.
They were my great grandparents on my dads side.

I had no idea I was related to the Clines until I started tracing. My husband said his dad always told him he was kin to the Clines who gave the land for Bryson City. After I found I was kin to the Clines, I found it was my gggrandmother Lucy Ann Cline who gave the land to help start up Bryson City. I have enjoyed finding all the information and the links to our family. I don't care about scandals, I just care about their lives and how they had to live. I a a descendent of Sylvester Cline, who at one time lived in Eugene, Oregon. My grandfather, Marion Sylvester Cline, was born in Eugene on Oct 29, 1910. My father, Richard Marion Cline, was born in Pataha, Washington. My grandmother's maiden name was Ball, and she came originally from Pomeroy, Washington where her family had lived for many years. I don't think I'm related to Sebastian Klein, but it would be nice to find out since I've just gotten interested in geneaology.

Great site. I found a book on the Kleins at NC state library in Raleigh. It tell about Moriz Klein and his sons Michael, Sebastian, and Jacob. Also mentions Valentine who came to America first in 1 sept 1731, on the ship Brittania. They think he is another son.

Your website is great. I have not been able to trace my Cline ancestry beyond Peter Cline {1854-1925)in Bath County, Kentucky. Peter Cline's son, Robert Lee Cline,was my father. If the list includes Callie "Dora" Cline she was of Miami indian descent. She was a decendent of Frances Slocum my grrrrrrrt grandmother. There is family around Peru, Indiana. As for Susan Abernathy and Miles Cline: Abernathy's father was Robert Abernathy. That lineage bears from Scotland. The last article I found was of Robert Abernathy being shipped to U.S. to reform him I suppose. I've researched my ancestry for several months and have found several articles on the net. I am just starting, but I found a wonderful green clth covered book at my grandmother's house. Descendants of Michael Kline written by A. Campell Cline in 1973. It has several pictures and ancedotes about past relatives. I have found a couple people on the web that go further back than you have, but have know idea how you might want this info. Great Web site. I'm a great grandson of Coley Calvin Cline. Coley's oldest son, Lyerly Cline, is my grandfather. We trace our line back J.S. Cline, as well.
My mother gave me a book that Coley's children put together about our branch of the Cline family, and I'm trying to dig deeper. Thanks for all the information you've posted.

Looking for info on Martin Reading-Redden-Redding and his daughter Sarah C. Reading,ect. b. 1859, Cherokee county Alabama. Married William Porter Rinehart 1873. I have longed for a full Cline Web site and am thrilled to have this one. I like having a direct link to my family's genealogy. I like being able to easily locate information on the reunions. I like the fact that this site can grow as more information becomes available. I like links to other family history sites. I like ways to easily communicate with family members I don't even know.
