Hello, to all Guests interested. I just was curios on the guests signing in. I have been on the search for persons related to any of the ancestors mentioned; My ancestors have left very little trails before they came to Canada. In July 1932. still on the search for family.
Thank you for keeping your family tree alive.

As I mentioned earlier, Halmo and Hodal intermarried with Skvarenina. There were definitely ties between the families. In fact, I recently learned that my great-grandfather Michael Halmo immigrated to America with several people from the Bosany area -- including a Gyorgy Skvarenina. They left from Bremen on the ship Oldenburg on January 19, 1905 and landed at Baltimore. According to the ship's manifest, Gyorgy Skvarenina was 34 years old and was from Nedanocz. He was going to his brother in Chicago. I wonder how this Gyorgy Skvarenina and my great-grandfather Michael Halmo were related... were they friends or cousins???? Enjoyed your site! Will visit again!

I am visiting your site a 2nd time. Like the previous guest, I also have Hodal ancestors. Hodals intermarried with Skvarenina at least 3 times. I found the following marriages in the Bosany records: Nov 1815 - Anna Skvarenina/Joseph Hodal, Nov 14, 1859 - Eva Skvarenina/Mathias Hodal, Nov 16,1868 - Joannes Skravenina/Anna Hodal.

I am really excited to come across your website as I also have ancestors from Bosany. So far, I have been focusing mainly on the Halmo surname. In my research, I found 3 Halmos who married Skvareninas. In my notes, I have a Joseph Skvarenina who married a Maria Halmo.(This same couple was mentioned in the very interesting report from Nitra's regional archives). I also found a Julianna Skvarenina who married a Stephan Halmo circa 1840. And I found a Barbara Skvarenina who married a Joannes Halmo circa 1870. All 3 Skvarenina-Halmo families had about 8 children each. I don't know yet if any of the above are related to me. Many thanks for sharing the wonderful info on your site. I found it very informative and helpful.

My great-grandparents John and Julia Skvara made their home in Whiting, Indiana. I suspect it's possible their last name is an Americanized form of Skvarenina. I hope you will be able to confirm this at some time on your site. Thank you.

I have learned that Julius Skvarenina was my grandfather, and find the new information I have learned fascinating. It seems the time frame coordinates with the family on this webpage. Perhaps they are related?
