I have the CD on Theresa Fisher's Stafford marriages. I don't know if it was an error on her part or the minister, but the following information on both sets of parents names are wrong:
SPICER, J.W. s/o W.H.& Virginia Spicer age 24 S farmer POB Culpeper Co POR Fauquier Co & DICKERSON, Norah; d/o Malred(sic) & Sarah Dickerson age 20 S POB Spotsylvania Co POR Stafford Co; POM Stafford 10 Aug 1898 minister D.J.Shopoff STMR
The correction should read:
SPICER, J.W. s/o Malred(sic) & Sarah Spicer age 24 S farmer POB Culpeper Co POR Fauquier Co & DICKERSON, Norah; d/o W.H.& Virginia Dickerson age 20 S POB Spotsylvania Co POR Stafford Co; POM Stafford 10 Aug 1898 minister D.J.Shopoff STMR
I am sure the minister is what the problem was, because he [sic] the name Mallory and spelt it Malred.
Mallory Howard Spicer & Sarah Jane Smith Spicer were the parents of James W. Spicer. James W. was born October 18, 1875, in Culpeper Co. and married in Stafford Co. to Nora E. Dickerson born 2/22/1879.
I hope you don't mind my corrections. I have the family Bible as well as all the info. Thanks for your help

Jost (Joseph) Cuntze (Coons) listed on the original 1714 Fort Germanna roster was my 12 GG Father. He moved to the Stafford County Germanna settlement with the rest of the original Ft.Germanna group where he died 1731.
His son Johanas Cuntz apparently returned to The Empire of Europe in 1725 and returned to America in 1731. He Married Catherine Stover in 1738 and had land regestered first in Orange County, near Winchester. Much of this early history cannot be found in present day records. Mainly looking to see how you are able to save graveyards in Virginia. We have an endangered one in Fauquier associated with the first Germanna group (1714). The developer is ready to sell the land. Approximately 600 graves exist but only one tombstone. Please do not sell nor exchange my name and address.
You have a very informative webb site. Thanks

Great site for research of people whose ancestors are from
and around Stafford County. Realizing that records are sometimes hard to read from age and fancy cursive this is
one of the best sites I have visited. Wish I could find more on the parents of Maria Bolling, my great Grandmother.
Many Thanks and keep up the good work.

I am finding births, deaths, marriage, military muster and cemetary information on several of my ancestors. This is fantastic! I finally found the full name of my great-grandfather, Robert Wyatt Mills. Was this site always available? I've been researching names on this side of the family for a couple of years and this is the first time I've hit this site. Please thank all of your volunteers and contributors. It is absolutely wonderful. When I finally get a presentable "tree" put together I will be sure to share it with you so you can add my link to the list.

I like the font you've chosen. It's easy to read. My husband remembers visiting the family farm,Peach Orchard Hill with the family cemetary in the 1960's. We're researching a branch of my family, Thomas Stanton family from the late 1600's and early 1700's. We're new at this and appreciate all the online resources now that we live in Missouri! We will be visiting in late May 2002 and look forward to meeting you in the office!

Hello,
First off, I would like to say thank you for this site. I have been using it for about a year now and I love what you have done to it. I also love the new changes that acured resently. My ansesters are the Dickerson's and the Anderson's from the Aquia, Widewater and Stafford area of Virginia. My Great Great Grandfather is Louis ( Lewis) Joseph Dickerson. My family has been working on the family tree for many many years and it has been only in the past 5 years that my husband and I have been able to find any thing at all on the family. Louis' parents meet and married in Stafford and raised their family there as well as there desendants did. so if possible could you add more on the Aquia, widewater area of Stafford. I still have family that lives there, but I now live in Fort Smith, Arkansas and we are limited on what we have on Stafford Virginia here. out side of this this is the best site on the web and I really love it, thank you so very much and please keep up the great work.
Thank you again Lorri Rhodes
