My great grandmother was a Fuller, but don't have much on her, wished I could find someone who could help me find her family and were she came from. She was born and died is DeSoto Parish, Louisiana. Keep up the great work.

This is a wonderful site; although I did not find any of my ancestors, I thoroughly enjoyed the letters. I had 6 great and g-g-grandfathers in the Civil War and would love to find even one existing letter like these. I also have a great interest in the Civil War (long before I found so many grandparents were involved) and I thank you so much for sharing your information with all.

I come from a Soprano and Valasco Fuller who were born in New York in the 1830's. Some of their children and maybe all(I do not know yet) were born in 1863 in Waukegan, Lake County Illinois. So who knows. Some day I will get through all of the census's etc and I will see if we share a line. Thank you for sharing your wondering letters.

I'm so happy to find your site and read your letters. I am related to the Fuller family. My great great great grandfather was Artemas S. Fuller born about 1812 in Attleboro, MA. He was married to Susan Latham (daughter of Thomas Latham) from Smithfield, RI. Artemas died in Glocester, RI on 18 June 1894. On his death record in the town hall, it says his father was Pasariah Fuller. I have searched and searched for a Pasariah and then started to wonder if it was an error and the name should really be Zachariah. I have been unable to make any connection between Zachariah and Artemas. If you have any information on Artemas, I would LOVE to hear it. Thanks.

Very inspiring collection of familiy letters which I think convey a courage, a sense of honour and loyalty that seem all too rare these days.

I can't wait to finish all the letters. Grateful to you for sharing these.

I was born 1932 in South Africa, then left there at age 24 yrs. to see the world. Thankyou for sharing these letters which reveal some of the conditions 100 to 150 years ago in the USA. Most of the world is jealous of the Americans, but the conditions with the hardship endured by USA pioneers cannot be comprehended. everett marshall in Toronto Canada

I'm so glad that these are being shared for everyone to enjoy. Even though they're also heart breaking at times. Last Oct. I found Charles W. at the National Parks site for Andersonville Prison. Here's the link to his profile page. The site is very informative. Those men suffered so much. Thanks for sharing all of this Lottie.
