Comments:
Most of my Powell connections in Missouri center around Lexington and Ray County. William Asbury Powell and his brother Alfred Henry Powell were farmers and preachers. They fought on opposite sides during the Civil War.

I am the great niece of Bill Helms-Father of the Iron Mountain Baby. The story still makes me sad. By the marriag of my mother to Lonnie C. Barton, I am also related to John Barton the writer of the song the iron Mountain Baby. I am very proud of his generosity in helping to provide for the baby.Most of my Family love to write poetry-I attribute this to John and his wonderfull writting ability-Thank you John Barton.
