I typed Wallace Family History Attala County, Mississippi
to locate this fantastic site. Years ago a lady who lived in Stephenville, Texas prepared a geneology book Wallace Family History. Her name was Lucile Ray. She gave a copy to my Aunt Mildred Parish Wallace and in return when I began genealogy Mildred passed the book on to me. I only started in 1997 and I am now 70 so I began very late. My greatgrandfather George P. Wallace (b. Nov. 1848) came to Stephenville, Texas after the Civil War to live. He married twice. His first wife died but they had a son named Lafe. He married again and had several children. William Franklin Wallace was my grandfather and one of William Franklin's sons was Percy Brady Wallace, my father who died in 1974. I have many Wallace relatives in Mississippi and Texas but only knew the Wallaces in my dad's immediate family. We lived in California our entire lives, except for being born in OK. I have McNeill and Carr relatives from Stephenville, Texas. Emily Carr McNeill was my greatgrandmother on the McNeill side.

Hello Everette, Its good to hear from you again. Before I left Ms. I donated my "Rainey Times" to John B. Rainey, Jr. I think he will share with interested parties. I'm inclined to think that The younger Thomas F. Rainey was the one married to Sultan. She and the baby are buried in the Holeman Cemetery, just accross the Big Black River from Durant. Ms. n I was so sure that Rainey family was connected to our Raineys, that I paid 3 guys to clean off that cemetery in 2004. I carried John and his family to the old home place and that cemetery when they came for the reunion in Louisville. My oldest Daught Dorothy is in Iraq for a 6 mo stint Take care Love ya Alice

I throughly enjoyed your site. My greatgrandfather James H. Carr was born in Virginia in 1818. I haven't been able to find out too much about him. I remember my grandmother talking about her parents, but I was young and didn't pay too much attention. How I wish I had! It would make research so much easier. I know his ancestors came from Scotland, but have to dig much farther to find out more. Your site is great!

This willl be so interesting when I get the hang of this computer - I'm not the greatest on it. Thanks for starting this site - My sister, Wanda Carr Waldrop, and I went to Mississippi about 25 years ago and visited with Uncle John Carr before he died. It's been so long ago, I don't remember what relation he was to Everett. I will be visiting this site again in the near future.

Hello!
The Carrs I seek are Irish Protestants - from Tipperary, I believe. William CARR (1800-1896) married Margaret LARRETT & they went to Fitzroy Twp., Carleton County, Ontario (near Ottawa), Canada abt. 1835 & had some 16 children. Anybody else out there researching these folks too? Thanks!
