Please contact me. I am the Granddaughter of Selly and Robert E. Cook. They had more children than my Uncle Jim. My father is(was) Jim's older brother Robert W. Cook. Robert E. Cook had a daughter, Mary, from a previous marriage, and Selly (she changed it to Sally when she moved up to WI from TN) had a daughter named Marcie. The only one of the kids still alive is Marcie. I've been trying so hard to find out about my Grandparent's past and have not had any luck since almost everyone has passed on. I know my Grandma was from Goodlettsville, TN, but she never really talked about that. And Grandpa Cook passed away when I was about a year old.

Andy and Mary I am not sure if you received my first e-mail so I will send you this:
Your website is detailed.
I am related through Anna Catherine Kellerman who is the daughter of Johann Herman Kellerman and Anna Margaretha Welters. I am doing genealogy research for the Johann Herman Kellerman/Anna Margaretha Welter/Peter Heinrich Kellerman and Anna Catharina Butzen lines. If you have any more information and stories on these people please let me know.
Also you mentioned on your site in Ancestry.com to see the following references and I was wondering if I could have a copy of the following certificates and items that are in these references that you refered to or you could tell me how to get the copies:

Reference or Title 394-information on Kellerman
Reference or Title 218-the marriage certificate for Johann Kellerman and Anna Margaretha Welter and Johann Kellerman's holy card. I'll give it a try on translating the German in the marriage certificate.
Reference or Title 221-the Kellerman birth certificates.

I appreciate all the information and the work that you have on your website. I believe I contacted you a while ago too.
I know that through the Anna Catherine Kellerman/husband Arnold Van Gemert/husband Francis Hubert Willems/Joanna (Nora) Van Gemert lines the family had a florist shop in De Pere, Wisconsin that the family grew up around that.
I went to Mount Olivet cemetary in De Pere, Wisconsin and met the person in charge there and he saw Johann Kellerman's and Anna Kellerman's (Butzen) names on his map but when we went to the spot where they are buried; there were not any grave stones.
Thank you
Tina

I was wondering if you could tell me how I could get the information of reference 394, reference 218-copy of the marriage certificate for Johann Kellerman and Anna Margaretha Welter and Johann Kellerman's holy card and reference 221 the Kellerman birth records...that would be awesome! These references refer to what you had for the Kellerman's on Ancestry.com. You said in this website to "see the references" and even if you could e-mail me the documents or tell me how I can get these documents that would be appreciated. I just want to let you know I went to go visit Johann Kellerman's and Anna Margaretha Welter's gravesite at Mount Olivet Cemetary in De Pere, Wisconsin and I could not find grave stones for them. I had the cemetary person in charge help me and he showed me where they were buried and we did not see any grave stones. Thank you for all the information you are supplying on your internet site. I believe I e-mailed you a while ago too.
If you have any more information and stories about Johann Kellerman, Peter Kellerman, Anna Catharina Butzen and/or Anna Margaretha Welters that would be real nice.
As you can see I am related to these people but I am through Anna Catherine Kellerman that is Johann Kellerman's and Anna Margaretha Welter's daughter.
Through this family line I heard they had a florist shop in De Pere, Wisconsin and the family was involved with it while growing up.
Thank you,

Comments:
My father is James Willard Erdevig, who passed away when I was 20. I'm interested in any information on Joseph Rasmussen, who evidentally emmigrated from Copenhagen to Chicago. Also on the Erdevigs, of course.

Daniel Henry Erdevig, Jr., or "JR," passed away Sunday, September 16, 2001 in Seminole, FL, at the time survived by his second wife, Margaret "Peg" Erdevig, living at 622 Edgewater Dr., Apt. 526, Denedin, FL. I heard that through his brother James Willard Erdevig's (my father's) second wife, Elenor H. Erdevig.

Margaret Ann Erdevig (nee Cox) passed away August 23, 2004, and was buried at Bay Pines National Cemetary, St. Petersburg, FL, according to her daughter, Debbie Schliefer.

I can fill in the first name of my cousin Dorene's husband, I believe. Full name Kalyan Sikdar. I can fill in James Willard Erdevig's grandchildren, and there is a great-grandchild on the way, and also a little more on Uncle Dan's progency. Interested?

The German-Danish side of the family seems verifiably big-boned and healthy. Grandma Erdevig (nee Irene Rosena Rasmussen) never saw a doctor until she broke her ankle in her 70's. She spoiled us, but as a secretary, she could be stern to visitors to her executive's office. "Battle-ax" was one of the appellatives. She told the story of how as a school girl she passed a note to a boy to invite him to roller skate in the park, as they often did. Unfortunately, she wrote, "Meet me in the park, tonight." This was misinterpreted by whover authorities intercepted it, and she got in some kind of memorable trouble. She married Daniel Henry Erdevig of a carpenter family. Lore has it that they changed their name from Hansen or Hanssen, there being either (1) too many carpenters named Hanssen in the Chicago area or (2) too many Hanssens getting sued. Erdevig might be a Danish spelling of a Norwegian place name or "farm" called Erdvikdal or something like that. A glance at the Norwegian Nat'l Archives in 1980 showed too many possibilities for similar place names.

"Funeral services were held at the Evangelical Church near Helenville on Tuesday afternoon, the Rev J.E. Lubach officiating." This was the last sentence of the obituary for Emil Godfred Arzberger in 1930. My grandfather died of TB a bit more than two years later in Chippewa Falls. This must have been one of the last services he conducted as he was quarantined later that year. My father was five when his father died, but he last saw him at the age of three. My great grandfather is buried in Chippewa county, but he died when my grandfather was only thirteen. I suspect my great grandfather grew up somewhere in Washington, Dodge or Jefferson counties, but am not sure exactly where. I've been trying to determine if my great great grandfather is the William Lubach who joined the 27th Wisconsin Infantry in Hartford on Oct 18, 1864. If so, then my great grandfather was only nine when his father was buried at Jefferson Barracks in St. Louis on his way home from the Battle of Spanish Fort. My grandmother's name was Elda Bernd before she got married, but I think her mother's name was Rex and she may have grown up near Horicon. She met my grandfather in college while he was at seminary in Illinois.

My wife is Vicki Kautzman, her mother is Beverly (Penterman) Kautzman. Her father was Theodore Penterman who was married to Jane Knickelbine. They had seven children. The funny part of our story is I just got hooked on this geneology stuff a few weeks ago, you would hate to see my phone bill with searching the internet and all (Although I'm sure your well aware of). I just found out that Jane Knickelbine and my grandmother Angeline (Lemberger) Radey were first cousins. I quess in a indirect way my wife and I are related. I truely enjoyed your site and please feel free in sending me an E-Mail if you would like. My only problem is I have a ways to go before my retirement so I have only one choice and it's usually my wife prying me away from the computer. It's addicting to search for your ancestors! The ironic thing about all of this is on Christmas day I wanted to give my mother in-law a family tree on her Penterman side. I only got to Theodore and Jane and then I found your website. It's amazing how people spend years on searching for there ancestors and with a click of my mouse and your website I was able to put 10 generations together in about 4 hours. I think I had some help from a few ancestors from above. What a beautiful piece you two have put together. I'm sure your ancestors are proud of you both!

Have a healthy and happy New Year!

I found your site while researching the Hammetter family. My great-grandfather's brother, John Michael Hammetter, married Anna Barbara Walther. He was an Evangelical Circuit rider and her parents were John and Catharin Walther, who came from Bavaria, Germany to Helenville, Wisc. They were married May 10 1864 at Jefferson, Wisc. So maybe there is a tie here, maybe not. Your website is great in any event.

Hi Mary & Andy,

Even tho' we are not related, I wanted to sign your guest book and compliment you on your web site. I have only been researching my family for a little over a year and have so much to learn from people like you!!! I am currently working on my children's paternal line which includes their ggrandfather, William Frederick Sidencranz (s/o Albert Seidenkranz and Wilhelmina Bahr), who immigrated to the US around 1875 to 1882 from Pommern so have been interested in reading as much as I can find about that area. Such an interesting history!!!!!! Thanks for your contribution to my education. Your stories are so fascinating and so descriptive that I could imagine being right there with you on your trip. Thanks for the inspiration to create something similar for my family one of these days.
Best Regards,
Alice Hildreth
