Hi:

I came across your website as I'm beginning my family resesarch. My great, great grandfather was Cono Amenta Giuffre. I believe he was born around 1850, but haven't determined. Nor do I know his parents. His wife was named Concetta. Any possibility there is any connection with the Giuffre's listed on your site?

Thanks

Hi, Can you give me a hint? I have an ancestor whose name was Theresa Criscouli (not sure of spelling). Family stories said she came from Castel di Sangro, Abruzi. Her parents were said to be wealthy, owned a bakery, & owned property and her dad Nicoli was a big shot in town. Well I have been to sites for Castel and searched for that name. I thought that if he was such a "big shot" I could find mention of the name. She was married to Ralph Berardinelli who's dad was supposedly wealthy and the mayor of Castel and owned 2 ranches. I hoped that in the history of the town I could find mention of either family. No such luck. I found Theresa on the Ellis Island site. The writing was terrible but it looked like--Orisenelle--The children were listed as Berardinelli and I was told she would have used her maiden name (what ever it was). I am asking you since you list the name Criscuolo which is close to the name I was told.(Criscouli). Thanks, Audrey

My Grandmother's Mother's name was Giuseppe Reale married to Cono Mazzone.Naso is a very small town so it is possible
to be related distantly if at all.
I am in the process of searching the Mangano's with the help of The Family History Center which I am having a lot of luck. I am a Novice at searching so I haven't even begun to search my Grandmother's side.
I found you on the Genealogy Genforum, noticed the name Reale & thought I would say Hello.

Hi,

I am just curious... My name is Dennis Bembenuto and I am from the Philippines. My father told me that his dad is half italian. I am cruising and looking for answer on the internet. And didn't find anything about the spelling of my name but always going to benvenuto not bembenuto.

I have so much questions about my genealogy tree. And, I don't know if the Benvenuto's ever did came to the Philippines during the Spanish era of 1800 to 1900.

Still searching for answers....
thanks and regards,

Dennis

NASO: My father told me his real Dad played with John Phillip Sousa, came through my home town in Minnesota, met my grandmother, and stayed to marry her (around 1913). Shortly after my dad's birth in 1914, Anthony Battagliola returned to New York. About 1920, he returned to Naso, Messina, Sicily and remarried. He had three children, I believe, in Naso: Joseph (born 1925), Teresa and Peter. The children moved came to New York in the 1930's or 1940's.
