Hi. I have not talked to you in a while but wanted to drop you a line. You have listed that the original Johan Georg Boligh was the father of Thomas, but you also state him as being the same Georg of Berks county who died abt 1797 according to his will. The only problem with that is on the original marraige records in New Hanover which i drove up to see shows that Thomas's father was desceased when he married Elizabeth Kehl and yet her father Jacob was living when they got married sep 20, 1791. Please write back and if anyone else has imput please feel free to write me at artist332006@yahoo.com
Thank you,

I am a Great Grandson of Emaline Lewis and Daily Shaffer. You have an excellent website. I have started to research my roots, and have found your information on
the Lewis Family very helpful. I knew Glenn & Ferry Lewis quite well, and stayed at their house once in Middlepoint, Ohio. I think Glenn's father was Mars "Oreal" Lewis, but I am not sure. My father used to talk about his Aunt Mish & Aunt Lucy.
His Great Aunt Artmisha lived in the Alma, Michigan area - as well as my Great grandparents. I believe the Aunt Lucy he referred to was Lucinda Dilbert who was
married to Lafayette Lewis, but am not sure.

My three greats-grandfather is Jesse Poley aka Bolig, born April 27, 1833 in New Hanover, Montgomery, PA. died November 21, 1909, the son of Abraham Bolig, born May 9, 1809 New Hanover, PA. Died December 22, 1881 in Green Lane and buried at Frieden's Union Cemetery in Sumneytown, Montgomery, PA. , the son of Thomas Bolig , born April 5, 1770 New Hanover Died between 1830-1840 and married Elizabeth Kehl on Sep 20, 1791. Baptismal records show Thomas parents were George & Catherine. Lots of people have noted that Thomas is the son of Johann Georg Bohlich that came to the USA in 1754. The problem i see with that is People believe he died in berks county in 1797 and the marriage record for Thomas & Elizabeth show that his father George is dead before Sep 20, 1791. I believe he may be the son of George who married Catherine Mechline but that George would have died around 1778 and married another Catherine previously. Any imput would be appreciated.
Thank you Chuck

There is also Caspar(Casper) Willingmyre/Winemore in Baltimore beginning City Directory 1803 Brickmaker died 2/6/1826 "in his 63rd year" This branch some time used the name Winemore or Winemeyer or Winemyer. For example Casper is in 1800 Census as Winemyer. No success finding arrivals but likey Casper and father (John Willinmeyer) of John (1812 soldier Richmond born) were brothers who came from the old country Anyone with thoughts?

Ive often thought about my family history, just before my dad past away he gave me some of his dads medals from world war one (my grandad)I found out that he and his brother had enlisted together in the Manchester Regiment 8 battalion, unfortunatly his brother John was killed in Gallipoli France but he survived to the end and came out as sergent after moving up the ranks, his name was Joseph Galloway and he was a monumental stone mason by trade. He came from the Paisley district of Glasgow Scotland to work in Manchester where he got a job with Man city corporation,he was married to Helen Jacobs and they had 6 children,Frederick,Frank,(my dad)Ernest,Arnold,Renee and Florence.(only Arnold survives)and they lived in the Beswick area of M/c in a terraced house known as a 2up 2down in Blackthorn street, off M/c Rd,God knows how they managed to live together, the 2 bedrooms were only about 13 x 13 ft.I took some 8 mm footage of the area 30 yrs ago, unfortunatly Blackthorn st and Princess st which ran back to back with each other were demolished shortley before I got there, apparentley both streets suffered some structural damage during the M/c Blitz WW.2 and were deemed unsafe by the time I got around to filming there, but I got a flavour of the neighbourhood with the old school and ST Jeromes and the other houses that were still standing. Well.....I seemed to have gone on a bit,I only meant to add a couple of lines, anyway cheerio for now and I enjoyed your site, very informative.Cheers Frank.

Hi, cousin!
Although we've never met, I remember my grandmother, Tena (Ernestine Bevard) Wilkin and her daughters, Ruby and Anna, talk about Rene Dibert. We even attended one of the Dibert reunions when I was very young!
And I well remember Russell (Thomas "Russell", son of James "William" Dibert) and still see his daughter, Dortha and her sons from time to time.
I'm the daughter of Charles and Sarah Wilkin and I'm delighted to find a little piece of the family history on-line.
I can probably add a little current info, if you are interested.
Have a wonderful Christmas and a great New Year!

Euphene, (Euphema) Cronkhite, daughter of Elijah Cronkhite and Katherine Oderkirk, was my gr-gr-grandmother. She married James Gallimore or Warren County Indiana. They had several children, one of whom was my Gr-grandmother, Rhoda Gallimore. By the 1870 census, Gallimore children were apparently orphaned and living as live-in servants in various homes in the area.
Her daughter, Rhoda May Gallimore, married Raymond Foster, also of that area. Raymond Foster was the son of Benjamin Foster.
Rhoda Gallimore and Raymond Foster had 5 children: Jesse, who died as a baby, Bonnie, Benjamin, Paul and Mildred Foster. Mildred Foster was my grandmother.
The Fosters, Gallimores, and Cronkhites all fought in the Revolutionary War, and I have heard that these Indiana lands where they settled may have been awarded to children of Rev. War vets. Have you ever heard this? Seems strange that so many of them would end up in the same area.

Thank you for the very extensive early PA Kurtz History; very nice. I'm trying to figure from which PA ancestor my grandfather Henry Kurtz, and my father Clarence Henry Kurtz [1914 - 1994] are descended. My father's aunt, Mary Kurtz, out of PA, a delightful, widowed, plain-clothed, 70ish little lady in the 1960's would visit our family. She must have been born then in the late 1800's. My sibs are Walter Samuel Kurtz, Clarence Eldon Kurtz, and Nancy Ellen (Kurtz) Sollenberger. All sibs reside in Sarasota, FL with the exception of "Eldon" who lives in Harrisonburg, VA. Further, I assume an acquaintance here in Sarasota acquired the name Mary Boley when she married into the Boley family:) The Georg Bohlich history is wonderful; be proud (like the rest of us:)
Again, thank you for your site. If you can help me make my connection to the early PA Kurtz's, I would be most greatful. Thank you. Mary E. Kurtz www.packyourbagnow.com srqmare@aol.com

I started my family history about a year and half ago when my dad was diagnosed with lung cancer and we all realized that we really didn't know anything about his dad's side of the family because he passed when my dad was only 2 yrs. old. My dad had heard and wondered all his life where his dad came from so that is when I started it and then my mom started wondering about hers since her mother had died in 2000. So I have been checking things out now for awhile and never realized how many Trinkles exsisted until now and your site just helped me more than you would ever guess. I will be back to view it again and keep up the wonderful job you are doing. I could be wrong but I do believe that the Jane Trinkle that lived with her son until she died was my great great grandma and her son Jacob was my great grandpa and his son Robert L. was my beloved grandpa. One thing is for sure they did believe in having very large families. If you need any info and I can help just e-mail me. Like I said I could be wrong but so far everything adds up pretty good. Thanks for having your history available to others like me.

Thank you very much for sharing your family information! I was very interested in the McClane Family info/photos and the photos with William Barnes and Frank Thuston who are great granduncles.
Do you have further information on the Thuston or Barnes Families? A cousin told me that she found photos that included a Rower family member....can you guide me to the photo?
My direct desendants include Isaac and Almeda Barnes and Isaac and Julia Thuston, parents of William Barnes and Frank Thuston who are both in family photos included in your family tree.
My Barnes, Thuston,Rower,Dunlap,Wickham and Reynolds ancestors came to Putnam County, Ohio from Franklin and other Ohio counties in the 1840's, 50's and 60's.
I have a number of old photographs of the Barnes, Thuston, Rower and Reynolds Families that I could share if these families are in your family tree.....
Thanks again, I enjoyed your site.

John Adney b. 28 March 1774 owned land at Ft. Recovery, Mercer County (once Darke county), Ohio. From this land he set off a tract for a burial ground and gave it to the neighborhood. It occupies a knoll that commands a wide view in all directions of the broad valley of the Wabash. Though still spoken of as the Adney Graveyard, it is also known, appropriately, as Green Mound Cemetery.

Hello
I found that website with google, searching for some family relatives here in Germany.
As I could see your roots are from Baden and the area of Heidelberg.
My grandfather was born Nov.6th 1903 in a small town called Baiertal which is near Heidelberg, he died in Donaueschingen during a bombing of the railway station Jan.2nd.1945.
Our family roots here in Germany starts during the periode of the 30years war in Europe around the year 1648.
The first Zubers came from Switzerland, area of Thurgau town Märstetten.
In both areas a lot of Zubers are still living and you can find much more information about the long families history in Germany as well as in Switzerland.
Hope you will have some more sign ins here, good luck and all the best.

At the end I just wont to say It was very nice to find and meet The Portz familly :) and wath the photos. Hi,
I am a descendant of John Coffey, Sr.(born in Ireland, went to Massachusetts, and died at Monroe, Orange Co., N. Y. and Experience (perhaps Experience Nye born in Sandwich, Mass. and died quite old in Monroe, Orange Co., New York. Experience may have been a daughter of Benjamin Nye and his second wife (think it was Rachel Foster).
John and Experience has a daughter Grace Coffey who had two husbands. The first was Levi Alger (1781 - 1820) and the second was widower Col. James Youngs of Blooming Grove who she married at the Presbyterian Church of Monroe in 1823. Grace had a son Charles Coffey Alger (1809 - 1874) (my gggf) and a daughter Emily Alger who was the first wife of a Cyrus Pratt who married her first cousin Harriet Coffey after Emily died at age 25. Emily left a daughter Sarah E. Pratt who had children by two husbands.
Chares Coffey Alger (C. C. Alger) was in the iron business in Stockbridge, Mass., Hudson, N.Y., and Cold Spring, N. Y. He had two wives and three children. I am descended from his son by the first marriage who was Charles Alger (1836 - 1897). His daughter by his first marriage (Grace) and his daughter by his second marriage (Lucile) never married.

This is an amazing site you have put together! I am a Colbry from Maine, a decendant of William Colbry. We had the problem of locating other Colbry's because apparantly My great grandfather William broke away from the rest of the family and left little trace of his family. We had found several pictures of a man named Joseph and had wondered if that was in fact a brother. We had little idea there were however so many siblings in fact!! From the details listed on your web page you most likely already know that there are in fact a small number of Colbry's in Maine and several in New Jersey. I'd like to thank you for taking the time to research these events and facts. It would be interesting to see any pictures you may have of Joseph and his family. If you have any such pictures saved electronically feel free to upload them to my attached e-mail. Thanks again for your time and effort.

Hello there! I am a direct descendant of Christopher Trinkle. Stephen stayed in Virginia, and my grandfather grew up in Wytheville, Va. I was looking on your site because I now live in Indiana, and my grandfather told me that many Trinkle's had relocated to Indiana.
It turns out that my son, Robbie, is doing a project on Indiana history, and the Potawatomi Indians. My mother (who is a DAR) told me that Christopher Trinkle had been killed by an Indian, and the DAR's put a monument by his grave. Do you know if this is true? Or how he did in fact die? It would be neat if he could include this piece of history in his project.

Hi,
I am looking for ancestors of Conrad Bernauer and his wife Maria Zuber. Conrad avoided the draft in Germany by taking his dead brother's papers and shiping off to America. I found the records of his pasage on the ship William out of Roterdam Holland. He arrived in Philadelphia on november 4,1817. In the manefest there was also
a Mdsitz Zuper and family listed. I am asuming that This is Maria's
family. In 1820 after serving three years to pay for their pasage they moved up state to Gains township in Tioga County. They were one of the first familys to take roots there.
In 1824 Mr and Mrs Zuber and their baby grandson were killed in their bed when a tree fell on their cabin during a storm. I have located their graves in the state game lands out side of Watrous Pa.
I ahd the help of the GGGGgrand-son of the man who helped the Bernauers bury their loved ones. The graves are located at The Latitude41 Degrees45.300 min.Longitude 77degrees31.320 min
I guess that I tell you this in hopes that you might have some more information about the Zubers or Bernauers that I dont have.
-sincerly yours,
Don Hughes

I have found obit of Barbara (maiden name Roush)born Feb 1800, wife of Abraham Keller, in Mennonites site, says Barbara died Apr 24, 1890 not 1892 as several say- "KELLER".-On the 24th of April, 1890, in Allen Co., Ohio, of old age and dropsy, Bar-bara Keller (maiden name Roush), at the ripe age of 90 years, 2 months and 1 day.wife of Abraham Keller, She was a very affectionate mother of ten children, of whom five are living. She lived in widowhood"27 years" and lived to see the fourth generation, not counting herself. She was a great lover of good reading. She subscribed for the GERMAN HERALD 10 years ago in winter, and took it eight years when her eyesight failed. She laid them away carefully and would often go and look them over and read them as much as she could. She was also very fond of the German Almanac. She got the first one when she subscribed for the HERALD, and was pre-sented with one every year until death took her away to her long home. She was a mem-ber of the U. B. Church. Buried at Allentown. Text: Psa. 116:15.

Hi there!
Thanks for researching all our relatives! We were researching Harry Galloway, and lo and behold you've done all the work for us. You've traced the whole line back to the old world. Harry's daughter Mozella married Russell Jones, and he's my grandfather.
I'm just not certain that Harry Galloway is indeed my ancestor. We know him as Harry L Galloway. We found him first in the 1920 census, which we know is him, because all the family names are there. Then I found him in the 1880 census as Harry Galloway. This is the Harry Galloway you have as the end of your Galloway tree, we believe, because the father's name is the same, Lafayette. The birth date in the 1880 census matches the 1920 census. The counties are the same, Lenawe. And the places the parents were born are the same in both censuses. Still, there could be more than one Harry Galloway with the same birth year in the same county with the same parent birth places.
Anyway, it was a great shock to see you'd found our whole Galloway line back to 1700 or so. Thank you,
Russell

Cheri - Great website and a real treasure for me in my search on the Boley family tree. I only started this genealogy work earlier this year, so it is all new and very exciting. It appears that my branch of the Boleys is in common with your family tree branching from Henry (Bolich) Boley (son of Johan Peter Bolich & Catherine RIES). As you know Henry and his wife Barbara Ann (HART) moved west to Utah in 1849. One of their sons, Henry Harts Boley (my Great-great-grandfather) and his wife Elizabeth Arsena (DAVIS) appear to have followed later. Anyway, the Boley family members are now scattered all over the West. I would love to know if you ever get anymore information on the Johan Peter Bolich family or his parents (Johan George & Catharine BOLICH)in PA.

Hi Cheri,
It was great to come across your site and find a definite connection. You show George William Zuber married to Margret Aronhalt (second marriage for both). Margret had Mary Jane and Dean from her previous marriage to Jesse Sullivan. My grandmother is Mary Jane. Although she doesn't have a blood relation to the Zubers, she remembers her step-father George Zuber very fondly. Her father died when she was a year old, and Mr. Zuber helped raise her. It was nice to see his picture on the site as well. I have a few more stored away. Feel free to contact me.

I was just looking up my last name on the computer to see what I could find. I wonder if there is some relation here. I have lost touch with my fathers side of the family here in the Memphis, TN area now that he has passed away. I know my grandfather has a brother somewhere in the northern part of the US but I am not sure where. I know the McOwen name is not common so I would think there is some relation.

Hello, my name is Heidi. I live in Washington State, but I grew up in California. My genealogy is a little complicated since I was adopted (a long story!) I found my birthmother Betty Maxine Galloway (Nettles) in 1989. Since that time I have been researching her family lines. Her father's name was Robert Mansfield Galloway. He was born in Missouri in 1885. His parents were Mary Emma Kimball and Frank Barclay Galloway. I have been trying to find out more information on Frank Galloway bn. 1853 and I believe I might have found him among your geanealogy pages. Frank and Mary were married in Illinois and later ended up in northern California. Frank had a sister named Laura who was a nurse. I don't know if any of this rings a bell or not, but the information I recieved from the historical museum says he was from somewhere back east. I'm wondering if your Frank Galloway and Laura Galloway could be of the same Galloway family lines? I enjoyed looking through your site. Thanks for making this available.
Sincerely,
Heidi Pasqual
