Hi although I maintain this web site I have to admit that its quite a while since I read the Guest Book - or did any work on the site :-(
I'm delighted to read of the enjoyment the site is giving.
Connie is not a well lady and I should really be more support to her - I realise that there are comments and identifications which really should be acted upon. My apologies to those of you who have provided information which has not been acted upon.
At least there is a record in the Guest Book for those who care to delve.

About time I checked-in at this wonderful site again, particularly since my email address has now changed to that above. Wonderful to have a phone call from Velloa just yesterday to chat about Johnson family connections. This great site was my "launching pad" for all the family history research I have done in the past 15 months. Have had a number of emails from family connections and have enjoyed 'filling in the gaps'in my own tree, or providing some 'fill-in' for other family connections.
From Evelyn.

Since first visiting this site back in late May of 2006, I have really enjoyed "discovering" many family members and have received emails from family connections from Johnson,Newman and Hockley, both here in Australia, and also in USA, Canada, and England.I have also through re-connecting with a second-cousin, Joan, been able to fully identify all the people in Photo 0044, listed as "unknown" which contained my Grandmother Daisy Johnson (nee Newman) and all her four children, with many other Johnson/Newman family members and their friends. Also I have found out that Liz,a lady from Wellington, New Zealsand, who has been a friend of mine for a number of years is also connected to me through the Johnson family. In Gratitude to all responsible for this wonderful site, Evelyn

Have just discovered this site! I am the eldest daughter of Grace Gibbins (nee Johnson) who appears in the Photo 0199 in the photo archive. When I visited Nunburnholme, in England, a few years ago I tried in vain to find out any details of the Johnson connection as I knew my Grandfather, Tom Johnson was born there. Grace Gibbins passed away just last Wednesday 17th May 2006.Probably cannot identify any photos for you. Mum may have been able to help if I had discovered this site earlier!

Such a pity so many are unidentified as I am sure there are descendants of so many of the people shown who would be thrilled to have such photographs of their ancestors. They are, however, things of great beauty in themselves. Beautifully executed and a record of a time long gone. Thannk for letting us see them.

Could be the Whitfield or Donaldson or Carroll or Ireland families.
I am not sure but a few of them look like my relatives and there husbands.
Would love to hear from any one who may have the same interests.
Keep smiling.

Hi Connie!
Thanks for popping by my webpage, http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~bronwyn, I thought I'd return the favour. As you saw, I've put up info on my own family ancestry, but none as yet on Gary's family (ie the Johnsons).
FYI, I thought you might like our marriage details for your family history (Sylvia used to tell me about your efforts to keep the genealogy straight):
Gary William Zane Johnson (b. 13th Dec 1972) m. Bronwyn Jane Walker (b. 7th Jan 1976) at Eight Mile Plains, Brisbane, on 30th June 2001.
One day I hope to untangle the Johnson genealogy and put some of my accumulated info online, along with a wealth of photos, but until then I think I'll just pop a link on my webpage to your site, if you don't mind?
Congrats on a great site, and I love the internal search function, which I didn't think Rootsweb pages allowed. I'll have to add it to my own site.
:)Bronwyn

Yes I think it is a big possibility that the male worker in 105 could be the pensioner named Vicary in 1913 diary. Is there any Viacary relations that can verify this? It would be nice to name the man. C.J.

Good work Eric, you have a great site. It would be good to see names applied to the unknown photos.Someone must have copies of some of these photos to help you to identify the unknown.
