I am researching my wife's family. Her grandfather was William James ALLEN born 1888 Bonifay, Holmes County, Florida. His father was William Chilton ALLEN born Oct 1854 Alabama (1900 Holmes Co census) and he states both parents born in Georgia. I have just recently located a William J. Allen who purchases property in Holmes Co 1854 and 1859 but am unable to locate any other information on him but suspect he may be the father of William C. ALLEN. There are other ALLEN families in Holmes Co but to date have been unable to link any of them together. Are any of these in your database?

My gggrandmother was Theresa Allen, (we think!) born in 1824 in Alabama. She married Harmon Pate who was a minister. She stated her father was born in KY and her mother was born in TN. Does anyone know anything more about her? She died 15 Dec, 1912 at age 88 in Bandera, Bandera, Texas.

Cant get passed Miles Thomas ALLEN, b. abt 1830, d. 1863.
He married Lizzie Bishop b. Ala.
Mellissa J. b.1854 d.1927
John M. b.1856 d. Bef.1900
William Thomas b. 1862 d. 1928 they all died in Hamilton County Florida.

I'm one of the 4 sons of Ruth Stone Woods whose Stone ancestors lived in upstate SC, north GA, AL and AR during all of 1800's, and probably moved into Carolinas from VA soon after RW. My ggrandfather was William Pitchford Stone, Co.C, 28th AL CSA, b. May 8,1844 at Stone Mountain, GA.--obviously, not your William P. Stone who was born in 1818 in Putnam Co, GA. I noticed that Elizabeth Aleen Baker, sister to my father Arthur L. Baker Sr. and granddaughter of J. Willliam Pittman Allen, is not listed in the data base. She was born 8/26/1922 in Birmingham, Jefferson Co., Ala. First husband was Samuel Arthur Donaldson(deceased) and children were Samuel Arthur Donaldson Jr., born 9/11/1927, Annie Elizabeth Donaldson, born 9/23/1930 and Mary Frances Donaldson, born 3/1/1932 all in Alabama. Second husband James Lee Barrett, divorced, no children. 3rd husband John Fagan. If Aleen is still living, she kept his last name. 4th husband(now deceased) Ansel Glen Hukill.

I'm not sure that we are connected. My great grandfather, John Henry Allen, was born in Marietta, GA ca 1830. He came to live in Tallapoosa County, AL prior to the War Between the States. He served in the was witn a unit from Notasulga, AL. After the war he married Frances Jane Satterwhite. They were living in Chilton County, AL when he died around 1900. He is buried in the Clanton, AL City Cemetery.

My Wife's Mother's Father was William James Allen however, we have little information about his whereabouts or birth place other than probability it was in the area from Henry, Co. Al down to the Florida border. They lived in Bonifay, Fl for a while as his oldest sister, Mattie Allen, eloped and married S. C. Dupree in 1911 and it was reported in the Bonifay newspaper. William Married Lillian Hough we think in Charleston, SC (my wife remembers her talking about her family being in that area) and move to Florence, SC where their two children, Marjorie Jacqualine and Harold Dupree, were born in 1924/27 respectively. He retired about 1945 from the SC Industrial School for Boys (Reform school) and moved to Yebor City area of Tampa, Fl where my wife remembers living with them until he died about 1951. We have been unable to locate any further information on him other than the Florida Death Index. If you can supply any information or even a possibility would appreciate what little we can locate. I have over 6400 Indivuals in my Database most with roots through GEORGIA. Also over 2600 marriages included in the Database.
