Comments:
Aunt Dora was married to John Klein, "Uncle Dutch" as we knew him. They lived on Willow Street in Elizabethtown, Lancaster Co., PA. They were a lot of fun to be around. Both Uncle Dutch and Aunt Dora had a wonderful sense of humor as I remember. I also remember visiting them several times. Aunt Dora would always serve us a dish of ice cream when we visited.

A John Shuey born 02 April 1786 in Pennsylvania was my GGG Grandfather. He wound up as one of the first six families to settle in Pulaski County, Indiana, circa 1838. A Thomas Shuey lived nearby. John's wife was Elizabeth Parker, born 1786 in Pennsylvania. His daughter Margaret (Shuey) Hines, my GG Grandmother, was referred to as Pennsylvania Dutch.

how did you find this page? Googled Henry Shuey
relation to these families (if any)? gg grandaughter to Henry Shuey
Comments:
You left out the name of Hiram Shuey who is a son of Henry and Mary Kettich-Cattietch-Katich. Hiram was born January of 1816 and died May 1919 at the home of his daughter in Sedan Kansas. Henry didn't die in 1832 as you stated. He is listed on the 1840 and 1850 census. In 1850 his son Hiram is living next door to him as well as Hiram's sister Mary Jane, who married Ira Mills. You have Mary Jane as marrying Jacob Klinger, and she might have, but there is a lot of information that indicates she was married twice. More research needs to be done on Mary Jane. Hiram was married four times, with all of his wives preceding him in death. When Hiram was 95 years old he wrote an article for the Sedan Times giving a brief autobiography. On Hiram's 100 birthday he preached a sermon (he was a ME circuit rider minister). Barbara McDOnald

relation to these families (if any)? My maternal grandmother was a Dysinger from the Cecil/Hicksville area of Ohio
Comments:
My great grandparents were Christopher and Harriet Dysinger. In looking at some entries online, someone has listed my grandmother as being named Mary, not Minnie. They have all other entries correct including her dob.
Just would like to get an idea of how many other family members there are still in the Defiance area. One maternal cousin, Harley Dysinger actually lived close to me in Milan, MIchigan, but he's gone and I don't know about any of his children.

Sarah Robinett b 10-1855 d. Wayne Co Wva 1901 my ggrandmother, who married James R Hargis, her father was Nathan Robinett b. 1823 m. Esther Alice Scarberry they all lived in Pike Co Ky 1850's. Nathan's father was also in 1850 Pike Co with his wife Nancy his age 56 born 1794, more than likely the son of Nathan Robinett who married Sarah Burnside in Nov 1790 greenbrier co va. The age would fit. Have seen where these go back to Nathan Robinett b 1760, Joseph b 1713, Samuel b 1669, Allen Robinett b 1632. Can only verify to Pike Co Ky. My grandfather Nathan Hargis was a twin and evidently named after his grandfather Nathan Robinett.
Great site you have put in a lot of time. Am still searching. Irene Salmons (Hargis)

Very excited to see your new website. There is a man, Frank Disinger, who has been working on the Deissinger lines for 40 years. Most of his work has been on the other male children of Nicholas but he has, just in the past few years, been able to find more on the Thomas lines. He does not have a computer. We just had a family reunion with about 60 people and a couple men who have been doing much work on the Thomas line. I have sent your web site to them. I descend from Nicholas' son George Deissinger/Dysinger.
