I have a Great-Grandfather that might have the name Squire Wells. He lived at one time in Lee Co.,VA. He was married to Juliann Henegar from Wythe Co.,VA. He may have died in a fire.
Their son, Charles Henderson Wells b) 1856 - Lee Co. VA., d) 1924 - Knox. Co.,TN was my grandfather.
I have searched for years for the right Squire Wells.

Was just browsing the internet and found this site, was amazed to find some of my family on here. My Dad's mom was Rebecca Wells, born 1894 and married Kelly Fields. I also seen my Dad's sister Pearlie on here where she marrield Albert Wells. My Dad, Paul Fields was born in Leslie County in 1924. I remember him saying his Mother died giving birth to the twins. She got what they called bed fever if I recall the term. He was moved to Cumberland, KY not long after that where he was raised by some Creech's. Most of them eventually moved to Corbin, KY. Kelly is buried in the Locust Grove Cemetary in Keavy, KY along with my Dad. If anyone wants any more info on that line of the family, feel free to email me or give me a call at 859-402-0520.

Please check to see if my paternal grandmother fits into one of your Wells families. I think I may have found one of her children living with a grandmother in Cincinatti according to the 1900 Census. My Grandmother: Edna wells Bremer. Date of Birth: September 9, 1860, in West Virginia. She married Joseph McClellan or "Mack C." Bremer as he was known on October 23, 1887, in Tuscarawas Co. Ohio. They lived for many years in Salem Townsip, Port Washington, Ohio, then in Pittsburgh, PA. and Baltimore , MD. She died on October 23, 1943, and is buried in Loudon Park Cemetery , Baltimore, MD. After a fire, which killed a young daughter, another daughter Ruth has possibly been found living with a grandmother on the 1900 census. The grandmother's name may be Wells or Weber. I do not see well enough to read it. If Weber this could possibly be her mother's maiden name, as Edna's maiden name was definitely "Wells." I am searching for my grandmother's mother's family, or, my maternal grandmother Edna Wells' maternal family and descendants. They could be possibly living in the Cincinatti, Ohio area.
The only other hint was told to me by a cousin, "Grandma Edna Wells alwasy said her mother's people owned the VanCamp Cannery? I'm looking for info on William and Juda Wells, who lived in Knox County, KY, from around 1805 until their deaths. William's father's name was Zachariah, who served in the Revolutionary War. He is listed on the 1820 Knox County Census.
William and Juda's family is listed on the 1820, 30, and 40 censuses of Knox County. I am descended from their son, Zachariah, but my knowledge of the family basically stops with William and Juda's names.
Can anyone help me out with info on William Wells? Feel free to email me directly.

This is as much as I know from recent internet research and information recieved from my dad Milton Emory Wells; uncle Carlos James (pete)Wells;great uncle William Clark Wells; great aunt Nettie Florence (Wells) Gruesenmeyer.
Amoni Wells was a wagonmaker at Holston Mills VA
Clark Gordon Wells was a wagonmaker and laborer at Saint Clair VA
Stephen Emory Wells moved to Villa Ridge MO around 1877? and purchased a section of land – I’m not sure when he married Louisana Wooten whose mother Sibyl (Black) and father William Wooten were from North Carolina . Steve farmed there until moving to San Francisco CA to stay with daughter Florence.
James Carlos Wells also owned and farmed his own farm at Gray Summit MO.
William Clark Wells began as a brakeman in Oakland CA for the Union Pacific railroad until retiring as Yardmaster.
Walter Wells worked with Bill for a time as a train porter.
Milton Emory Wells moved to San Francisco CA, with his brother Carlos James (Pete) Wells in 1933, after their parent’s divorce to stay with aunt Florence. Both worked as welders for a couple of years at Bethlehem Steel in San Francisco CA. Milton enlisted with the Army Air Corps in 1944 and served as a first lieutenant pilot on B17’s in France. He was the squadron leader and survived 37 missions on Germany. He operated three restaurants with his first wife Emily in San Francisco after WWII. He returned to Bethlehem steel in SF after their divorce and then owned a business manufacturing On Off, a waterless hand soap. He later had a business called Styco manufacturing epoxy paint. From 1964 he operated a commercial and private house painting business until retiring in the mid 1970’s.
Pete Wells owned and repaired Jukeboxes in the San Francisco bay area until moving to Elko NV in the 1950’s. He then co-owned the Brandin Iron bar downtown until opening the Bar 7 on his property just outside of Elko.
Viola stayed in Manchester MO with mother Alvina .
Louis Wells, when he was 22, passed on due to an automobile wreck.
During my last two years of High School I was employed as a service station manager. First married in 1972 I moved to Elko NV and worked as a construction laborer. Returning to the Bay area I was a Bay pilotboat first mate for a short time and returned to construction in Alameda county CA. At the beginning of my second marriage in 1975 I worked as a plant operator for Standard Oil in Oakland. In 1980 I remarried for the last time and worked in San Jose CA as a plant operator until being laid off in 1983. We then moved to northeastern California, where after owning cutting and selling firewood and driveway paving businesses, I enlisted in the US Army as a Howitzer crewman. My only post was Ft Lewis WA where I served as a supply specialist for the 3rd battalion 11th Field Artillery. After leaving the army I went to college for two years of accounting.
I now reside in Chehalis, Washington where I work as an accounts payable clerk for the state workman’s compensation program.
Stephan Ernest Emory Wayne Wells, I believe, still resides in Alameda county CA and haven’t heard from him since 1991.

I have gone to your genealogy page and discovered you had a George Wells born in 1802 in Grayson Co., and married Mary Polly, would this be Daniels and do you have documented proof that William Thomas is George Wells father, because everything I have points to Barnaby as his father. This George had a son Eli Well's who was wounded in the Cranes Nest skirmish. I live in St. Louis Missouri, My mother's maiden name was Wells. I know that Amoni Wells son Clark Gordon Wells was a laborer at Seven Mile Ford, Smyth Co. I have no records from which these Wells come from. Obviously poor folks. My mother was born Viola Louise Wells, 18 Jan 1913 Franklin County, Mo. daughter of James Carlos Wells and Alvina Rinklin. Mom died 11 Sep 2002 at St Louis County Missouri.
I don't have any other information other than the Wells family that I tie to came from Seven Mile Ford, Va. My great grandfather, Steven Emeroy Wells was the settler to Missouri. If you have any info to link my Wells family further back, it would be appreciated.

Searching for info on Nancy A Wells, b: 1822 in Nicholas County KY. She married (abt. 1841) Samuel Elliott, b: 1816, in Cumberland County Ky. They lived in Nicholas County and are listed along with children on the Sept. 1850 Census. They migrated to Knox County Missouri before August 1851, where a son, John W. was born as well as subsequent children. Samuel and Nancy are buried in the Novelty Cemetary at Novelty, Knox, Missouri.
