Comments:
Hello,

I am descended from the Jacob Puterbaugh who is buried in Penn Yann Cemetery, Bainbridge Township, Berrien, Michigan.

I am also descended from his sister, Elizabeth "Betsy" (Puterbaugh) Roof Collins Smith.

I was wondering how you are connected to this family as I am always trying to add descendants to my tree.

(Elizabeth married Aaron H. Collins)
(Catherine, sister of Elizabeth, married Barzilla Collins, Jr. brother to Aaron)
(David, brother of Elizabeth, married Mary (Collins) Marsh sister to Aaron.)

Therefore, I am also very interested in the Collins family.

I am also wondering if you have found any information on John and Susanna (Puterbaugh) Clark of Darke County, OH who moved to Indiana and then to Iowa. I think that Susanna may have been a sister to this Jacob Puterbaugh also.

Thank you,
Lance

Just checking in to see if there are updates. I'm descendent of William (b. 1745) > John > George > Mary Draper Ballou > Marion Ballou Fisk > Marion Fisk Giersbach. I visit William's property in Dover, NY regularly and curse the Yorkers who drove him back to Vermont. The Hunt Valley workshops in Wingdale section of Dover (on William's land) boasts a small restaurant in a house buiult 1791, which I recommend.

I recently returned home from a trip to New England during which I visited the Old Westerly Burying Grounds, West Roxbury, South Boston. It may be of some help to future visitors that is is on Centre St. just north of LaGrange St., next door to a Walgreen Pharmacy. The West Roxbury Historical Society resides in the library less than a block north of the cemetery and is open from 6 - 8 pm. The old slate gravestones are difficult to photograph and rubbing is prohibited. Some moveable light source is needed to get legible shots of James' and Marriam's epitaphs. James' death is definitely marked as 1691 although someone has tried to modify the 1 to look like a 4. Marriam's is 1697. The cemetery is dedicated to James on a plaque on the gate post.

She had a child (Ella) in Michigan circa 1856, married Martyn Taylor in Dupage County IL in 1857, moved to Ohio after the Civil War, had 2 sons Addison and Martyn Jr, and died in Scioto County Ohio in 1915.
