Comments:
My father, Anton Feist(1919-1995), came from Strassburg/Odessa, Russia via Germany following WWII, married my mother Pauline Palmer and came to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada in 1954. His uncle was August Feist who came to North Dakota with another brother at the beginning of the 1900s. Both had numerous childre from first and second wives. Balzar Feist (Selfridge) and Mary Schuh (Grand Forks) were my dad's cousins. When we came to Canada, the very first year we arrived, they showed up at our doorstep to welcome us. We went down to North Dakota a number of times to visit as well. Mary would visit us sometimes and come up by train. I met some of the other relatives related to the aforementioned. Joseph Feist, my dad's brother also immigrated via Germany to Selfridge. I've lost contact with all over the years. I have also found a picture of my father's parents in Russia, which my mother had redone from an old photo. Would be interested in the Minot reunion in August 2005. Can anyone get back to me?

Comments:
Just curious as there is a Feist Family Reunion in Minot ND this August 2005. Wondered if perhaps we might be related. My Mother was a Feist and one of 15 children. I have 82 first cousins many of whom still reside in ND.
I have a tape that my grandfather dictated about emmigrating to the US when he was a young boy and a short history of growing up on the Great Plains.
I guess I would like to find out more if we are related.

Comments:
I found the family of Franz Glatt and Clara on a Rootsweb page via a Google search, and checked out this website given there. Franz Glatt was a brother to Adam Glatt, who immigrated to Canada in 1907 from Russia. Adam is my son-in-law's grandfather. On checking your surnames, other ancestors' surnames appear. All his heritage is Catholic Germans from Kutschurgan region of Russia (it appears mainly Mannheim and Selz), and the stories are similar.

Comments:
It was thrilling for me to see the immigration notice of my grandfather, Sebastian Deitz. It is amazing to me that his signature of Deitz looks just like my dad's handwriting of the word Deitz! I am Edward Deitz's daughter and live in Grand Forks, ND. I was delighted to see the picture of my grandparents here with my aunt and uncle (who I believe is Elizabeth (Deitz), who we called Aunt Lizzy and her husband. And to read a letter my grandmother wrote was just as exciting. All the "Deitz" info on this site is unbelievable. Yesterday, (Memorial Day), I visited my parents grave and also my grandparent's Sebastian and Marion Deitz so visiting this site and finding this information is very timely. My father passed away Aug 14, 1996 and my mother (Marjorie (Foley) Deitz passed away on Sept 16, 1987. Thank you for your wonderful work on this site. Sincerely, Mary Beth Deitz McGurran

Thank you for all the information. I know how involved genealogy is and how addicting it can become! My grandfather, Heinrich Knoll, was the brother to George Knoll, father to many. I did meet George several times as a child (he even signed my "autograph book")! I did have an opportunity to spend time with one of his children, Sr. Christine, when my aunts visited with her when she stayed in Milwaukee. My aunts knew George's children, maybe even yourself!, and often recalled stories from the past. If anyone has information on the Knoll part of the family, I would really enjoy hearing from a distant relative! Thanks again for all the great work! It truly is appreciated by many.

Your site was excellent; nicely arranged and indexed. I found it easy to maneuver

Because I'm new to the genealogy process, I can't identify what's missing because I don't always know what to look for. However, I did not notice a general index to sources of information, e.g. census records, birth certificates etc. I suppose that would have been a monumental undertaking

Thank you for the invitation to your site.
