My grandfather was Joseph (Gisuppi)Antonucci from Leominster, Mass. He was from Corfinio Italy. His father(my great-grandfather) whose first name escapes me right now also lived and is buried in Leominster, MA. My grandfather had a brother (lived in Leominster also) and 2 sisters who also lived in the Pittsburg, Pennsylvania area. They were friendly with the Fallavolita family in Boston (Readville) section of Boston who was also from Corfinio. There are still Fallavolita's in Readville, MA.

Your website is full of good info. When I was growing up, we were the only Turcott's in the phone book in my home town. I had no idea there were so many out there. My research into my heritage has given me a much different perspective on my family name. Many thanks to Bob for helping me with my goal of finding my roots. I'm proud to be a Turcott!

Hi Bob. I found this page very informative. I have never met another Turcotte except of course my direct family. I was born in Germany and now live only 15 miles from the border of Mexico so I guess it is because of my location, not being close to Canada. I am researching the family crest or coat of arms, if anyone can give me some advice about finding an image it would be greatly appreciated.

Have you read the tragic saga of the DOIRON Family who living in Charlottetown PEI which is the Ile St JEAN were deported back to FRANCE in the Fall of 1759 I think it was. It was the last deportation + very bad as a ship sank + some DOIRONS drowned etc etc. It took 11 years but my DOIRON relatives returned to PEI. I live in BC CANADA

My dad (Arthur Eusebe Lagace II) and I have been casually exploring our family tree. My dad has been more ardent in his searches than have I, which will explain my lack of detailed information regarding my ancestors...
Both my paternal great(I am not sure of the # of gens)grandparents can be traced to Ils de Rey, then to the same boat which took them on the voyage to New France. Both men married Fils de Roi. I am unsure of the rest of the details.
My grandad Wilbur Arthur Eusebe Lagace married Lillian Sarah Martell in Woonsocket RI.
My great grandparents came from Quebec Provence.

All of my family up until my generation are bilingual French-English. I plan to study French in order to honor my roots.

I will send info regarding this site to my dad. He will love it

Thanks for complining this information
Adieu.

Hello Bob,

I just finished working on the Genalogy for my line of Fiset(tes). My great grandfather Joseph Aime Fiset(te?) was married to Amanda Turcotte. She was born August 28, 1863 in Champlain, Canada. Do either of these names pop up anywhere in your searches or family tree?

I have no idea as to her parents names, but she had four sons, Lucien(my grandfather), Leo, Edgar and Armand and one daughter, Rhea. She and my grandfather are buried in Notre Dame Cemetery, Stafford Road, Fall River, Ma. If you have any info, I would very much appreciate any info you might have.

Hi Bob, looks like a good beginning for you. Lots of work but rewarding to see it on the WWW.
By the way, my web site has recently moved due to Adelphia buying out MINT, so it is now at http://users.adelphia.net/~frenchcx/

Good luck
