I have just discovered your Weeden website and am looking forward to exploring it, as I have just discovered that my great great grandfather's middle name was WEEDEN. His full name is James Weeden Davidson and he was born in 1805, in Pennsylvania to parents that I do not know of yet.

At somepoint in his youth, he moved to Lawrence County, Ohio, where there were many Davidson's living. The reason that I know where he was born and when, was the 1850 US Census for Lawrence Co., OH. Shortly after 1850, he moved his wife and children to Metropolis, Massac County, Illinois. I have found a land patent for 160 acres of land in Massac County, dated 1843. But he did not move his family until later. It was on the patent that I discovered his middle name of WEEDEN.

If anyone researching the Weeden family....knows of Davidson connections....please feel free to e-mail me.

Sincerely, Linda Siekman

What you have done here is great. Have you made any conection between Edward Weeden of Boston (1635) and James Weeden of RI (1638)?

I had no idea that this site existed, it is pretty cool. I never heard about the Weedens back in the early 1700s and did not know they first lived in RI.
