My Perry Co Interests Genealogy and Lutheran Church

I hope soon to see the Hornbergers listed here as Adam Hornberger and wife, Elizabeth Baer Hornberger, my great, great grandjparenst, both from Bavaria, 1839, settled the area and were among the first Germans to arrive. The boats arrived a few years later during the Saxon Invasion Of Missouri, as it's often called. They're both buried in Peace Cemetery. Many of their descendants are buried in and around Perryville. Just down the road, for example, many are buried in Immanuel Cemetery. They also helped to set up the Missouri Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church. Can't help it...I'm very proud of them.

My Perry Co Interests Genealogy

The Perry County BOHNERT families have recently finished a large research project, thanks to the courageous efforts of (late) Faye Meyer, Pat Liedtke, the PCHS ( Perry County Historical Society), and all the other wonderful people and Organizations of Perry County, and surrounding areas.

My Family has now embarked on a venture to do similiar research on the rest of our Perry County Genealogy; starting with my Mother's (Manetta Cecilia Klump) side of the Family.
Most of her ancestry is in the "Barrens" book; but strategic portions seem to have been missed : we would like to close ranks with the rest of her never-known Aunts & Uncles, and document our Family ties.

Also of considerable interest is a sketchy history to my Dad's Ancestors on his Mother's side : Johann Wahlers & Margaret Stelling. These are Crosstown and Altenburg families from around the turn of the 1900's , I believe.

Any help on these would be GREATLY APPRECIATED !

My mother-in-law was Mary Tucker born in Perryville and my father-in-law was Ernie Hoffman born Oak Ridge, Cape Girardeau Co. My mother-in-law talked as I listened for hours about Perryville.
