My family has a pretty complete line of ancestors in the deGriselles family going back to Napoleanic France. My grandfather married a deGriselles, but nobody I know of has kept a record of the Scott family line. My Scotts came from Iowa, with family branches in Minnesota and Missouri, and I think the ancestry goes back into New York and Connecticut. Here are the Scotts I know of, starting with me: Lawrence Eugene, Floyd Edward, Arwid, Lucian, and I think Robert. Beyond that, I don't know.

Just beginning on the long & dusty Scott trail, eyesight is already suffering. My great grandparents were Henry Houston & Sarah (Sallie) Belle Scott. Her maiden name was also Scott. They lived somewhere near Lexington, Kentucky in the late 1800's-early 1900's. They had at least three sons & three daughters, all the girls were school teachers. One son, Raymond Henry, was my paternal grandfather. He & my grandmother, Anna Catherine (Crabtree) Scott, were given a farm & a blacksmithing business by his father Henry Houston Scott. It was located between Williamstown, Kentucky & Falmouth, Kentucky, in Pendleton or Grant County. They moved there in 1916, & raised eight sons there. My great grandfather, after becoming a widower,resided there part of the time, & died there from a fall in the tobacco barn in 1928. He & his wife are buried in Nicholasville,Kentucky.... Other than that, I've always been told that General Winfield Scott was my gggg something or another, & that he & his family in Texas took in Mary Todd Lincoln when she went around the old bend.
