Hi, came across your entry while looking for information regarding the Tutt family (my maternal family name). I was
very interested to read about the death on board ship of James Tutt who I believe was my great great grandfather and
whose posthumous son Josiah Tutt became the father of my grandfather James Frederick Tutt. As his only son Ronald died without children he was the last of the line in my family with that surname - although a multitude of descendents abound from the issue of his six daughters
Thanks for the information.

My Grandfather's name was Harry Wellard, born in Dover England. Approximately late 1880's. He had two older sisters, one named Emily and the other one I think named Florence. One of them moved to Australia. He married my Grandmother in Canada and lived the rest of his life in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

Dear Kate, What a wonderful site. Well done. I'm only beginning to research my wellard line & this is a great help. My connection is through my grandmother Maude Ricklar, her mother Mary Jane Gough her father Thomas Lewis Gough. I'd love to connect with other Gough/Ricklar family. Kind regards, Janet Hammon

Hi there! My husband stumbled across this page while looking for "Sailing on the Hibbs Line" which is now supposed to be available on-line (according to cousin Betty Warn) Anyway, I have Wellard's on my family tree, an Eliza Wellard married Edward Kenney, Eliza's parents were Hen(Henry) Wellard (1615) & Sus (Susan?) Taylor, Hen's dad was Dan/David Wellard (1598), & Dan/David's dad was William Wellard. I have no other information at the moment about the Wellard/Willard's. Sincerely Lindy

Hi, Great site. I am searching for Frederick John Wellard (1857). On the 1891 census he was married to Sarah Charlotte (1865) with 2 of their 3 children, Charles Frederick (1887) and Horace Victor (1890). Then on the 1901 census they disappear.I know they didnt go abroad. Their 3rd child was Herbert Walter (1894). I am waiting for a birth certificate for Herbert but has anyone got any suggestions on how to find them.
Many thanks
Janet

I am writing on behalf of my uncle who is currently undergoing research on our descendants: Harriet Wellard baptised 8 sept 1811 at St Mary the Virgin, Wingham Kent and her father William Wellard baptised 17 February 1820 at St Margaret’s Kent. .

He has researched the family for some years and has written various articles for local history journals etc. I hope this is of some help . Please let me know if this is of interest and I will forward his contact details.
