Have hit a brick wall on my ancestor, Richard Richard hedgepeth, married Elizabeth Bradley in Edgecombe County NC in 1841. records indicate he probably came from Granville Co. NC (later became part of Edgecombe) but can find no birth information or parents name etc.

My Hedgepath line comes from Lawrence, Maury, Counties in Tennessee, then to Pope County, Arkansas. I'm stuck on where they were before TN. Here's what I know:
John Franklin Hedgepath b. 1873,TN d. 1948, AR;
married Eliza Harriet Martin 1893, TN;
moved to Pope County, AR about 1903.
My grandmother was their daughter, Virgie Odell Hedgepath Price(1908-2005)Russellville, AR.
There were about six children, four were boys, but all have passed. None of the brothers had children.
I'm fairly certain John's father was William (Edward?) Hedgepeth (1818-1903)born in Maury, TN, married to Martha Janes Miles (1835-1896)also born in TN. His first wife died - Elizabeth - they had 3 (?) children who, I think moved to Missouri. The children with Martha stayed in TN or moved to AR, like my GGF.
I can't figure out who William's father was or where he came from. I have found a recently found a Thomas Hedgepath and a Counsel Hedgepeth (various spellings abound)in the 1820 Maury County, TN Census. Could either of these men be William's father? And if so, from where does he assend?

HI! Marion Hedgepeth is my great uncle. His sister Birdie Lucille was my grandmother. She would never talk about having any brothers or sisters. We knew she was hiding something. I have done some research through genealogy and I also have a copy of the death certificate from Chicago.
He is buried in an unmarked grave. He was shot is a gun battle in a Chicago bar by a loliceman Edward Jubarek. I just thought you may not know who his killer was.
I have no record of the family(John & Sallie - parents) after 1880. Marion was in the MO. prison in 1900.
